For Sale is another of my 69 Camaro projects NO TITLE NO TITLE NO TITLE

Vin and trim tags are still attached to the car

Have to sell one more of my camaros, as I bought another car...

This drivetrain is a '72 350, with auto trans.  Open 10 bolt rear.  Motor is pretty complete, and looks like it could run without too much work.  Front subframe has been rebuilt with new bushings, paint, shocks, ball joints, etc.  Drum brakes all the way around.  Power steering sector with new rag joint.

New right front fender and header panel.  All the rest of the front end metal is in great shape, with the exception of some rust on the bottom of the left GM fender on the bottom.  Cowl, lower valance, fender extentions, and rad support are all great.  Grille is not that great, headlight assy's and buckets included.  All side glass and rear glass good.  No windsheild.  Not pictured but included is a set of trim for the front and rear windows.  Doors are not too bad, I'd use them, see pics.  Deck lid is bolt on fiberglass.  Rear bumper and rear spoiler included as well as some good front inner fenderwells.

Set of bucket seats, rear seat, console, correct column, dash cluster, and NEW in the box complete dash metal included also.

Shell needs some work, but not near as bad as some I've seen.  Needs quarters, new trunk pan, and some floor pan work.  Rear rails look soft.  Rear valance and rockers look saveable to me.  Front and rear window areas need a little work, see pics.

Overall a pretty good start to a 69 Camaro, with some time and $$$, could be real nice.

Once again, NO TITLE, sold with bill of sale only.  $500 paypal deposit required within 48hrs of auction end, balance within 7 days by CASH, or wire transfer.  Can pay in full with paypal if you pay the fees.  Sold as is, where is.  Pickup within 20 days.  You are bidding to buy, not come look and decide you don't want it or have the $$$.  I do encourage you to come take a look before you bid, thats always the best way.

Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.

UAW to vote on strike at Kentucky Corvette plant

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

The current wait time for a new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is well, not short. With word of a strike at the Bowling Green, KY factory responsible for seventh-generation sports car, though, that wait time could end up growing substantially.
Now, a strike is still a ways off. UAW Local 2164, which represents the 800 workers responsible for screwing the Corvette together, is set to vote on authorizing a strike today, but even if the employees give the action a go, it's far from a sure thing. According to The Tennessean, both regional and national union officials would need to put their stamp of approval on strike action.
"The membership has to vote to strike, but it's just a step in the process," said Gary Casteel, the UAW's Region 8 director and one of the people that would need to authorize a strike action. Casteel told The Tennessean, "It's purely a local situation, though. They are having some issues with the local management."

The story of the 2014 Chevrolet SS: "Luxury, power, refinement, handling"

Thu, 07 Mar 2013

Not including the women and men who built it, the 2014 Chevrolet SS has only been seen in person by a piddling number of people - fewer humans than would fill the gymnasium at a high school volleyball game. Not including the men and women who built it, no one has driven it. Even so, it is already saddled with two controversies: the way it looks and the way it shifts.
First to that shifting. Did we love the last Americanized Holden, the awesomely sportsome Pontiac G8 GXP, and its six-speed manual? Of course. Do we wish the SS came with a six-speed manual? Of course. But we'd like a toboggan to come with a manual transmission. We'd put a manual transmission on a weasel if we could because we're just wired that way; if it moves, it should come with a stick and a clutch. Or at least the option.
Let's climb down off the ledge, though. We haven't driven the SS and we have no idea how good (or not) the automatic is. And the Hobson's Choice in transmissions when it comes to sport sedans like the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and Jaguar XFR-S and, oh yeah, cars-that-really-should-have-manuals like the Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R and Porsche 918 and every single Lamborghini and Ferrari, for instance, hasn't stopped us from enjoying what is clearly the gruesome, dual-clutched demise of Western automotive civilization. Because in spite of our ululations at the dying of the six-speed light, we understand.
