Cheap Chevy Cavalier on 2040-cars
Gleason, Tennessee, United States
O.K. Here it is: Up for auction is my beloved 1996 Cavalier that I bought off ebay March 2012. I bought the car with 160000 miles on it and it now has 216300. It never gave me problem one. It has a sony remote stereo in it, and I also have Dodge Stratus rims on it, I think they look cool. This is a Chicago car so it has rust. It also recently developed a coolant leak, I put a new thermostat and new radiator cap on it. After, going thru the bleeding of the coolant system (PAIN) it is still leaking from somewhere around the right front tire, and overheats when you turn the heat on??? Since, I was recently hired by the USPS, I do not have the time to fool with it, so I bought a different car and want to sell this one. It would make a great grocery getter, cheap first car, parts car, or for someone who would like to fix it and resale it. The car runs and drives. As far as I can tell the head gasket is not blown, the oil is fine, and no white smoke from tail pipe. I will drive it a few more days, so the mileage might change. I also just changed the oil 1 week ago, I have kept the oil changed every 3000 miles with High Mileage Oil (Penzoil, or Vavoline) I will put more pics up tommorow.
Happy Bidding

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
Corvette Stingray designer lists five goals of new exterior shape
Fri, 12 Apr 2013Redesigning an icon is a difficult task, especially when you've got a blank sheet of paper in front of you and the all-new C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is intended to be your final objective.
General Motors has released a new short video featuring Kirk Bennion of the Corvette's exterior design team, talking about the challenges of sculpting Chevrolet's new flagship sports car and the five goals the team had to keep in mind as it worked. In the end, Bennion's team had the pleasure of seeing their hard work take center stage as the Corvette captured the world's eyes at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.
Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]
Sun, 03 Feb 2013The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.
