He Had Intentions Of Doing A Full Restoration But Never Got Around To It - But He Did Replace The Engine And Transmission During His Ownership. The Original 289 Was Replaced With A Rebuilt 350. The Original 2 Speed Powerglide Was Replaced With A Th350 - 3 Speed. Both Have About 10,000 Miles Or Less On Them. The Engine And Transmission Work Great - Car Runs And Drives Nice With Plenty Of Power. The Body Is Very Straight - No Known Accident History. There Are Some Rust Areas As Noted But No Structural Issues - Floor And Rockers Are Clean And Dry. The Doors Open And Close With Ease - Door Locks Match Original Ignition Key And All Work As Designed. The Interior Is Very Acceptable But Does Have Flaws. The Dash Has A Center Crack And Part Of The Rear Headliner Is Hanging Down. Radio Is Aftermarket And Works. I Still Have The Original Radio Which Will Be Included. NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.
First privately owned Corvette Stingray blitzes 1/4 mile in 12.23 at 114.88 mph

If one needs further proof of that, we recommend they take a look at this video from Hennessey of what is claimed to be the first privately owned C7 Corvette to make a pass down the quarter mile. Not just any quarter mile, mind, this black C7 blitzed its way down the tuner's primary testing dragstrip. The Chevrolet ran the quarter in just 12.23 seconds at 114.88 miles per hour. That is a very quick time for a stock car.
Equipped with the Z51 package and a six-speed automatic transmission, not only does the C7 run a solid time, but it does so with little to no drama. That won't last though, as Hennessey will likely return it to its owner with far more power - we just hope they show a drag run of the completed product. General Motors has released a new short video featuring Kirk Bennion of the Corvette's exterior design team, talking about the challenges of sculpting Chevrolet's new flagship sports car and the five goals the team had to keep in mind as it worked. In the end, Bennion's team had the pleasure of seeing their hard work take center stage as the Corvette captured the world's eyes at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.
