I INSTALLED A NEW RICHMOND 373 GEAR AND A NEW YUKON LIMITED SLIP DIFF. I HAVE POSTED PICS OF THOSE REPAIRS. THE MUNCIE 4 SPEED IS THE ORIGINAL TRANS WITH MATCHING NUMBERS AND DATES, PICS INCLUDED. THE ENGINE IS A 396 BORED 60 OVER WITH A FULL ROLLER CAM AND ROCKERS AND NOT FOR THE FAINT AT HEART. I INSTALLED NEW COATED HOOKER HEADERS, NEW 3" EXHAUST, NEW CLUTCH ASSEMBLY AND NEW COMPONENTS THAT WERE NECESSARY FOR DRIVING. THIS CAR RUNS EXTREMELY STRONG AND IS PUMP GAS FRIENDLY. THE CAR IS A FACTORY A/C CAR BUT THE COMPRESSOR AND BRACKETS ARE GONE. THE FLOOR PANS AND TRUNK PANS ARE SOLID. THIS CAR IS A BLAST TO DRIVE MAYBE THE MOST FUN I'VE HAD IN A CAR IN SEVERAL YEARS. GM 6.2L V8 claims most powerful light-duty truck engine title
Thu, 12 Sep 2013General Motors has officially captured the horsepower crown for mainstream pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter V8. The big mill, available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, comes to market with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, handily outdoing its two cross-town competitors, Ram (5.7-liter V8, 395 ponies and 407 lb-ft) and Ford (6.2-liter V8, 411 hp and 434 lb-ft).
The new GM 6.2 will take a bit of an investment, though. Those that want the extra thrust will need to go with either the LTZ or High Country trims from the Chevy, or the SLT and Denali trims from GMC, which are the two highest trim levels for the respective vehicles. Trim levels aside, if you're in the business of towing, GM has you covered. Optioned with the 6.2-liter V8 and the Max Trailering Package, owners will be able to pull 12,000 pounds, a hugely impressive figure.
We still aren't certain as to what sort of economy the new engine will get, but it'll probably be a bad bet for the fuel conscious. As for availability, expect to see the 6.2-liter trucks in showrooms later in the fall.

The 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan is for drivers who value performance above all else
Sat, 16 Feb 2013The car you see above is the 2014 Chevrolet SS, and it's important both because it is the first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan from Chevy in 17 years, and because it will be the nameplate the brand uses on NASCAR tracks all across the country starting this year.
Though it wears a name as American as baseball and apple pie, the machine was actually designed and built in Australia, sharing most of its parts with the brand-new VF-model Holden Commodore. That said, the basic chassis bits are shared with other Chevrolet models like the Camaro and Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle.
While Chevrolet is happy to sell a Malibu or Impala to anyone looking for a mainstream family sedan, but the SS is reserved for buyers interested first and foremost in performance. Most sedans sold these days are front-wheel drive, which is great for everyday driving and when the weather goes bad, but the SS is instead a rear-wheel-drive vehicle aimed at enthusiasts who love to drive and who prefer speed and performance above all else.
