 THIS IS A CLONE SS CHEVELLE WAGON..... CHEVROLET DID NOT BUILD A SS WAGON..... BUT I DID!!!!!

IT STARTED LIFE AS A 327 WITH A POWERGLIDE TRANS.

NOMAD WAS THE BOTTOM OF THE BARREL IN THE WAGONS IT WAS STRIPPED DOWN VERSION   WITH NO OPTIONS..VERY FEW REMAIN TODAY MOST WERE RAN AT DERBYS AND OTHERS RUSTED OUT AND JUNKED.

ONLY 4,930 NOMAD V-8 WAGONS WERE BUILT IN 1968

 

THIS CAR IS A VERY NICE CLEAN 1968 CHEVELLE WAGON..IT IS A NOMAD FROM THE FACTORY.

I BOUGHT THE CAR 2 YRS AGO WITH IT NEEDING LOVE TO GET HER WHERE SHE IS TODAY.AFTER COUNTLESS HOURS OF SWEAT AND MONEY THIS IS A GREAT LOOKING CAR NOW.

1.REBUILT 350 WITH NICE CAM HEADERS AIR GAP INTAKE EDLEBROCK CARB.HEI IGNITION.(35K MILES ON MOTOR AND TRANS  WAS REMOVED FROM ANOTHER BUILD AND USED IN THE CHEVELLE)

2.HUGHES STREET/STRIP TRANSMISSION (TURBO 350 AUTO) WITH NICE SHIFT KIT.

3.ALUM. RAD.TO KEEP EVERYTHING COOL.

4.NEW FRONT DISC BRAKE CONVERSION KIT WITH CROSS DRILLED ROTORS,NEW MASTER CYLINDER/POWER BRAKE BOOSTER.BRAKE LINES,CALIPERS ECT..

5.POWER STEERING CONVERSION FROM A LATE MODEL CAMARO.

6.SHORTENED FRONT AND REAR COILS  SO IT HAS THE GREAT STANCE THAT IT HAS.

5.ARM REST NEED TO BE DYED AND INSTALLED I CANNOT FIND THE CORRECT DOOR PANEL COLOR THE ARM REST PLASTIC PIECES AND THE NEW PADS NEED TO BE DYED B4 INSTALLED.

6.IF YOU DESIRE IT MAY NEED INNER FRONT FENDERS(I DONT DRIVE MY CLASSIC CARS IN THE RAIN SO I DIDNT PLAN ON INSTALLING THEM)

Silverado HD, Touareg V10 TDI face off in diesel tug-of-war

A couple weeks ago, we watched a Chevrolet Silverado get dominated by a Dodge Ram Heavy Duty in a fullsize pickup tug-of-war, but in that truck's defense, Chevy's Vortec gas engine was no match for the torquey Cummins turbo diesel. For our next round of vehicular tug-of-war, a Duramax-powered Silverado HD takes on Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI.
Now, on paper, putting the Duramax V8's 365 horsepower and 660 pound-feet of torque up against the V10's 310 hp and 553 lb-ft looks like an easy win for the Bowtie, but unfortunately, this battle has a similar result as the Dodge versus Chevy video, with the Silverado smoking its tires trying to move forward as it gets pulled backwards. Put another way: YouTube 2, Chevy Silverado 0.
It just goes to show, though, that big tires, bolt-on fender flares and goofy smoke stacks don't improve your towing abilities. Besides, what did the Silverado driver expect when the Touareg V10 TDI has towed a Boeing 747 in the past?

We've been on the fence with NASCAR for some time now. On one hand, it's some of the closest racing anywhere in motorsports, with actual passing and door-handle-to-door-handle action as a matter of course. But on the other, it's become template racing - a personality-driven sport more about the drivers than any sort of loyalty to a particular automaker. The Car Of Tomorrow format really rammed that message home, with a racecar's identity coming down to little more than headlamp stickers slapped on the nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but we've wondered for some time what's in it for the automakers, who pay big money to stay in a series that has had little increasingly little do with street car sales, let alone innovation.
Apparently General Motors was beginning to wonder the same thing. In a new ESPN report, Rick Hendrick, team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, suggests that GM would have seriously considered leaving NASCAR if it wasn't for the move away from the COT to the new Gen 6 racer. According to Hendrick, GM North America boss Mark Reuss spearheaded the charge away from the 2007 COT and toward a racecar with clearer automaker ties - cars like the new Chevrolet SS racer shown above. 2014 Chevrolet C7 Corvette wastes no time zooming into Jay Leno's Garage

Where else would you expect the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray to show up first? Although this time it isn't exactly in Jay Leno's Garage, Leno instead playing an away game at Brown's Classic Auto in Scottsdale, Arizona. Nor does Leno drive the car, instead taking an 11-minute walkaround of the new American sports car with General Motors design head Ed Welburn, the same man who recently brought by a string of classic Corvettes to the talk show host's California compound.
It is, admittedly, a love-fest for the American sports car now featuring 450 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, but one that also features admissions about previous Corvette seats like "they were kinda rough," and the explanation that labeling the coupe "Stingray" means not having to call it "the base Corvette." On top of that, Welburn also explains the proper application of the term "dashboard." You can watch it all in the video below.
