1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Ss True Ss on 2040-cars
Gladewater, Texas, United States
1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 project car. This is a true SS 396. VN 136370R227503. The motor is now missing. I have the turbo 400 transmission & 12 bolt rear end with boxed trailing arms. The owner before me started to restore car but did not get very far. The body was in such bad shape that it was replaced with a solid body. The frame was stripped and repainted at that time. The frame looks great. The floor pans & trunk pan appear to be be solid. There is some rust around the rear window and trunk seal. (See pictures)). I would recommend replacing all exterior sheet except hood and deck lid. All glass is good except for windshield. Interior needs to be replaced including seats. The car came with factory A/C, bucket seats, dark gold vinyl top, & gobo beige exterior paint. Custom gauges have been installed but I have an extra dash plate. I have a Texas clear title & the car is also advertised locally. Car rolls & stops. I have known the car since the 1980's. It does need restoring but being a true 396 SS it is worth it. Buyer is responsible for pick up & shipping. $500 deposit due immediately after closing of auction through PayPal and balance due threw bank wire with in 5 days. Sold as is ,where is. No refunds.

2013 Detroit Auto Show
More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1
Thu, 28 Feb 2013During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.
Are you the 2014 Corvette Grand Sport?
Thu, 21 Feb 2013When are stripes more than just stripes? Follow up question: Is the product development team at Chevrolet really cocky enough to hide the next C7 Corvette variant in plain sight? This very recently spotted, and ostensibly obscured C7 asks a lot more questions than it answers, but there's at least some evidence to support that it might be the next Corvette Grand Sport.
The first and most obvious tip-off that something is up with this 'Vette revolves around those silver stripes. Obviously the stripes themselves don't necessarily denote a new model. However, when Chevy recently launched its "colorizer" website for the Stingray, there was no provision made for racing stripes - solid colors only.
Grand Sport exhibit number two is actually an incriminating lack of badges. The production Corvettes we've seen to date have all carried Stingray badges on their fenders, just behind the vent. The car seen in these images has no such badges, which is an intriguing omission on an car that looks like a production-spec vehicle otherwise.
