1971 Chevy Chevelle Concourse Station Wagon on 2040-cars
Fremont, Ohio, United States
This is a Very Nice 1971 Chevelle Concourse Station Wagon that was built and sold in California. I contacted the Original Dealership that is still in business. I do have the Original Build Sheet Window Sticker. Car was originally Placer Gold. Someone along the way has painted it White. Paint Is Good...has its small defects but has NO RUST THROUGH. I replaced the hood with a NEW Metal Cowel Induction Hood. I also rebuilt the rear Tailgate as it did have rust through. It is all repaired and we took out the Back-Up Lights and re-located them down to the Rear Chevelle Bumper. The Tailgate only swings open as we took out the drop hinges. Car has its Original Numbers Matching 350C.I. motor and 350 Trans that runs Great. Again a previous owner has added the Mild Crane Cam with Hydralic Lifters, Edlebrock Hi-Rise Intake and a Edlebrock 650 carb with HEADERS. I also added 2" New Drop Springs to the front and 1 1/2" New Drop Springs to the rear with Air Shocks on rear. I choose to have all windows LEGALLY TINTED. Car has a nice Dual Exhaust System with Glass Packs to the rear and side exits. Engine compartment looks good with Chrome dress up kit installed. The following is options from the factory...Soft Ray Tinted Glass, Power Tailgate Window, 4 Seasons Air Conditioning, Turbo Fire 350 V8, Turbo Hydromatic Trans, Power Steering, Concealed Storage Compartment, Glove Box Light, Front Should Belts, Lighter, Carpeting, Hide-A-Way Wipers, Wheel Opening Moldings, Power Disc/Drum Brakes, Dual Master Cylinder Brake Sysytem, Back Up lights, Dual Electric Speed Wipers, WAGONS ARE IN ! And they are Cool to drive !! I would not hesitate to drive this wagon anywhere. The car turns heads wherever I go. Headliner does have 2 small rips in it. Also Rear Seat Cushion has a small tear in it. Door Panels are all nice. Dash is nice...NO CRACKS. Car has Boyd Wheels with 15" in Front and 17" in rear. Tires are DIRECTIONALS that have about 900 miles on them. Any questions can be directed to 419-307-2282. I am selling the car with AS-IS Warranty. I will help winning buyer to coordinate shipping if needed. You can call or text me with any questions. YES I will take a Partial Trade on this car. And to be Clear on PARTIAL TRADE...that means PARTIAL...Part Of...NOT Trading Even. Car is still offered Locally and I reserve the right to end auction at any time. THANKS for looking. |

GM 6.2L V8 claims most powerful light-duty truck engine title
Thu, 12 Sep 2013General Motors has officially captured the horsepower crown for mainstream pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter V8. The big mill, available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, comes to market with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, handily outdoing its two cross-town competitors, Ram (5.7-liter V8, 395 ponies and 407 lb-ft) and Ford (6.2-liter V8, 411 hp and 434 lb-ft).
The new GM 6.2 will take a bit of an investment, though. Those that want the extra thrust will need to go with either the LTZ or High Country trims from the Chevy, or the SLT and Denali trims from GMC, which are the two highest trim levels for the respective vehicles. Trim levels aside, if you're in the business of towing, GM has you covered. Optioned with the 6.2-liter V8 and the Max Trailering Package, owners will be able to pull 12,000 pounds, a hugely impressive figure.
We still aren't certain as to what sort of economy the new engine will get, but it'll probably be a bad bet for the fuel conscious. As for availability, expect to see the 6.2-liter trucks in showrooms later in the fall.
More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1
Thu, 28 Feb 2013During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.
Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too
Fri, 07 Dec 2012We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.
