 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle
Runs good, has 350, 30 over, 4 bolt main. It did have headers on it, but replaced with manifolds cause got tired of tightening the header bolts twice a month. Needs new paint job, has some rust. Has 2 14' speakers behind the back seat but doesn't work for some reason. It's been sitting for about 10 years so maybe mice may have chewed some wires but not sure. It also has 4 twitter speakers and 2 mid range speakers. I don't know if all the amps are working. The power light on all the amps come on but can't tell since the speakers aren't working. All the exterior lights work, headlights, turn signals, brake lights. The transmission has been replaced when i first bought the car (about 20 years ago) and put a shift kit in it. It runs good, but needs some brake work done to it, I'm thinking since it's sat for so long it has rust on the brake drums and the lines bled out. The A/C did work, but haven't tried it yet, probably low on freon I'm sure. It used to be a show car, but time and elements has got the best of it. It does have some rust on the body, but some good body work "should" fix it up.  It just needs a little attention. I still love this car, but the way gas prices are, I can't afford to keep gas in it, especially since I'm in the country. It's not a true SS either, just a clone.  If any more questions, just ask, I'll be happy to answer anything. Oh, and it does have a clear title. This is a good fixer upper for the car enthusiast.

GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value

Thu, 12 Jun 2014

Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.

Corvette Stingray designer lists five goals of new exterior shape

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

Redesigning an icon is a difficult task, especially when you've got a blank sheet of paper in front of you and the all-new C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is intended to be your final objective.
General Motors has released a new short video featuring Kirk Bennion of the Corvette's exterior design team, talking about the challenges of sculpting Chevrolet's new flagship sports car and the five goals the team had to keep in mind as it worked. In the end, Bennion's team had the pleasure of seeing their hard work take center stage as the Corvette captured the world's eyes at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.

Amelia Island 2013: Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray from concepts to split windows

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

While this year marks 60 years of the Chevrolet Corvette, the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance focused on one of the coupe's most sought after models, the 1963 Sting Ray. General Motors design boss Ed Welburn was on hand to show off the all-new C7 Corvette, but even the hard-edged styling of the 2014 Stingray couldn't take away from the beautiful 1963 models sitting out on the field.
In addition to the original Sting Ray and the 1959 Sting Ray Concept, some of the other classic 'Vettes included "Big Tank" racecars, an interesting cutaway coupe, a right-hand-drive Z06 and the attention-grabbing 1963 Corvette Rondine by Pininfarina. Another impressive Corvette was the 1964 Corvette XP-819 rear-engine prototype. Owner Mike Yager had the car finished as a driving chassis for this year's show, but promises the car will be back to its original glory in time for next year's event.
