1962 Chevrolet Corvair 95 2.4l on 2040-cars
Springboro, Ohio, United States
1962 Corvair Rampside
Pickup: A classic piece of Americana. This Corvair is a must for the
serious Corvair collector. It has been in storage for the past 25 yrs. It has 9700
original miles on it. A mere 211 miles
more than it had on it when it underwent a full, high end, restoration in 1983.
This 6 cylinder, rear engine, air cooled beauty sports its original 2 tone blue
and white paint scheme. This truck is
virtually rust free and has under gone a detailed mechanical overhaul since
coming out of storage last fall. It has a new gas tank, the dual carburetors
have been rebuilt, the brake system is all new including brake lines, all new
belts and hoses, a tune up including plugs and points, a new battery and new
tires. The vehicle has a couple of small
issues. The AM radio works but does not tune in any stations, the turn signal
switch needs to be replaced or rebuilt and as with all corvairs, leaks some
oil. The vehicle will come with and extra set of original spark plugs, a custom cover and 3
sets of aftermarket Fisher Body seat belts in matching blue. Some key features
include a Turbo air 80HP 145 Cu.in. 6
cylinder engine, 4 speed manual
synchromesh transmission and a Rampside gate as well as a tail gate. Contact me for additional pictures with higher resolution. On May-01-14 at 15:59:39 PDT, seller added the following information: Some Additional Notes:The vehicle still has it's original dealer applied undercoating and the windshield shows some slight delamination in the corner. GM sweetens military discount for Buick, Chevy and GMC
Sun, 06 Oct 2013American servicemen and women interested in a new vehicle from Chevrolet, Buick or GMC now have a bit more incentive to head down to their local dealer, as General Motors has announced plans to improve its military discount program.
The new GM Military Discount Program offers eligible consumers a new Chevy, Buick or GMC at invoice pricing, which in some cases can take very large chunks out of a car's retail price. When factored in with other incentives, most of which are available with the Military Discount, the bargains are thick on the ground for members of the US armed forces.
GM's Retail Sales and Marketing Support general manager, Chuck Thomson, said, "GM has long supported the military and military families, and we hope this simplified and enhanced discount will show our appreciation for their service and help make it easier for them to own one of our great new vehicles." The program is open to all active duty and reserve members in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard and Coast Guard, as well as veterans that have been out of the service for less than a year. Military retirees and their spouses are also eligible for the discount.
Pure Vision Design TT Camaro has 1,400 reasons to want it
Wed, 06 Nov 2013We've talked about Pure Vision Design before, a California-based company that made waves at last year's SEMA show with its Martini-liveried, Indy-car-powered Ford Mustang. That same car later starred in a Petrolicious video we showed you just a few weeks back. The company's latest creation is a menacing car it calls the Pure Vision Design TT Camaro. Based on a 1972 model, this car shares the Martini Mustang's clean styling and obsession with details.
Unlike the Mustang, which draws its power from a mid-60s Lotus-Ford Indycar engine, the "TT" in this Camaro's name implies something far more potent. The Nelson Racing Engines 427-cubic-inch V8 has been fitted with a pair of turbochargers, with a claimed output of 1,400 horsepower. That's almost 1,000 more than the Martini Mustang.
A six-speed Magnum transmission dispatches that power to the ground, while Pirelli PZero tires are tasked with (somehow) trying to grip the road. Baer brakes hide behind those HRE rims, while JRI coilovers and HyperTech springs bless the Camaro with some degree of competency in the bends.
Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept blends the past and the future
Wed, 19 Nov 2014The Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo is the rare concept car that salutes a seminal moment in history, yet also borders on science fiction.
Revealed Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the concept uses the name of one of Chevy's historic racing partnerships, with Chaparral Racing, which dates to the 1960s. Chaparrals raced successfully at a range of levels, including IndyCar, Trans-Am and SCCA competition.
But the history ends there, as the concept's main purpose is as a racecar in a downloadable update for the PlayStation 3 game Gran Turismo 6.
