Original Wheels and 6.70-15 Wide Whitewall tires in front, and 7.10-15 Wide Whitewall tires in back. It is missing part of the windshield frame as you can see in the photos. The seats and seat frames were stored indoors and are in great condition for their age. This Classic is very rare and you won't find these anymore. It is probably 99% Complete and original. It is a barn/field find and was stored for 53 years. It will need a restoration. It does not run. Body was hit in passenger hinge pillar area and there was damage to passenger floor, rocker panel, dash, passenger door and firewall. It does have a new passenger hinge pillar glued in, but it will need re-glued in correct location. It will also come with a cowl section from a 58-62 corvette to use for repairs on passenger side, cowl section alone is worth $2k. It will also come with a very good condition passenger door for replacement. There was a previous panel replacement on right front I think, but can't tell, will need some glass work. It will need fiberglass work in some other areas, just to let you know so you don't expect it to be perfect. The wheels on it are off of my S-10 and don't go with it, It does have the 4 original wheels with 3 original hub caps. Owner lost the title 50 years ago, and therefore it does have a clear bonded title as 1956 corvette. If your looking for a driver-keep looking, this is a project and needs someone who is willing to appreciate it and do what it needs. Frame is in great condition with surface rust. If you don't have the cash don't call. These opportunities don't come along every day. Call to come see, thanks. If your serious about it call 402-305-1337.

GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value
Thu, 12 Jun 2014Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.
Experimental mid-engine XP-819 Corvette going up for auction
Sun, 17 Feb 2013It seems to be commonplace that when a new Corvette is in development, rumors swirl about a possible mid-engine layout. As is the case of Chevy's most recent C7 Corvette, these rumors never pan out.
In any case, the idea for a 'Vette with an engine mounted behind the driver can probably all be traced back to a single car, the 1964 XP-819 prototype. Built as an "engineering exercise" back in 1964, the prototype was designed with a rear-mounted engine. History tells us that the idea of a rear-engine Corvette fizzled, and the XP-819 was eventually cut up into pieces and stored at a shop in Daytona Beach, FL.
After sitting for untold years, a restoration project started on the car, and while it isn't yet fully completed, the current owner of the car, Mid America Motorworks, will have the car on display at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance as a "driveable chassis" with hopes of having a fully completed car ready to bring to next year's show.
Why Cadillac thinks it needs to succeed in Europe to sell cars elsewhere
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Ward's Auto has taken an interesting look at the renewed focus General Motors is showing towards Cadillac in Europe. Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe (pictured), says in order for the luxury brand to thrive in China, it first needs to succeed in the old country. The reason? Chinese buyers look to Europe for cues as to what's deemed worthy of the term "luxury." There are hurdles to the plan, however. In addition to the fact that the EU is flooded with high-end nameplates, GM doesn't necessarily have the distribution network in place to put buyers behind the wheel.
Combine that with persistent economic woes and Cadillac's checkered past marred by a lack of diesel engine options and a bankrupt distributor, and the road ahead for the brand looks like less of an uphill climb and more like a straight-up cliff face. But Docherty is optimistic and says she has a plan for the brand. We recommend heading over to Ward's for a closer look at the full read.
