THIS IS TRUELY A ONE OF A KIND VETTE ROD HER NAME IS SPLIT DECISION.  THERE ARE A COUPLE MODIFICATION THAT MOST PEOPLE WOULD FIND IT HARD TO DUPLICATE.  iF YOU LOOK CLOSELY AT THE LICENSE PLATE AREA YOU WILL SEE WE PUT A 67 LIGHT ABOVE THE LICENSE PLATE, AND IF YOU HAVE NOT NOTICED THE REAR QUARTER PANELS HAVE BEEN BOWED OUT 1 1/2" INCH TO MAKE ROOM FOR THE TIRES.  THE WORD BOWED IS IMPORTANT HERE B/C THE QUARTERS HAVE NOT BEEN FLARED THEY HAVE BEEN BOWED, WHICH MEANS THE ENTIRE PANELS HAVE BEEN REMOVED AND REPLACED  WITH WIDER QUARTER PANELS.

LISTED BELOW ARE MOST OF THE ITEMS ON THE CAR THAT DEFINES IT AS A VETTE ROD, THERE ARE MANY UPDATES, IE;  LS1 MOTOR, 4L60E TRANSMISSION, 1967 BIG BLOCK CORVETTE HOOD AND RESTORED CLOCK, VINTAGE A/C, VINTAGE FRONT RUNNER,  AUTO METER GAUGES, C5 SEATS, 1998 CAMARO WHEELS, REAR INSIDE LUGGAGE AREA HAS BEEN DRASTICALLY MODIFIED, CHROMED SIDE PIPE COVERS, COIL OVERS ON FRONT WHEELS, 15" TIRES

I WOULD LIKE TO TRADE SPLIT DECISION FOR A 1958 CHEV IMPALA  CONVERTIBLE IN SAME RESTORED CONDITION.  POSSIBLE A 55-60 CHEVY CONVERTIBLE RESTORED WITH AIR + MONEY

New Chevrolet Silverado to be revealed on Facebook on Thursday

Tue, 11 Dec 2012

There's not much to see here, but if you're one of those waiting for the reveal of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, above is the teaser image that Chevrolet posted on its Facebook page. We've seen the truck in form-fitting camo before, and even less can be made out here beyond those seriously punchy Silverado-esque fenders and the knowledge that the projector-beam headlamps teased previously do indeed work. We'll have to wait until Thursday for a full perusal of the "bold exterior design" and "careful attention given to every detail" we've been promised.
Gathering intel and rumors, magnesium and aluminum contribute to the Silverado's weight loss plan, the purported "High Country" top-tier trim will contribute to luxury pickup truck competition and profit margins and the next-generation small-block V8 will contribute to improved fuel economy. On the engine note, there have been rumors of available V6 engines, and when Facebook user John Jones asked "Where's your answer to that EcoBoost Chevy?", the Bowtie replied "stay tuned on the 13th. We think you'll be pleased...".
Along with the "Raise the Bar" tag, Chevrolet says of the Silverado, "You asked, we delivered." You can watch the reveal live on Chevrolet's Facebook page at 9:30 am EST, this Thursday, December 13. The GMC Sierra 1500 will also be there, and we'll see both in person at the Detroit Auto Show in January.

Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?
