The car: 1973 coupe, LS4 454, 4-speed, A/C, PS, PB, PW. Three owner car with 50k miles. 73 only Blue-Green color
with deluxe black leather interior. I have the build sheet but it is in rough shape.
Car was sold new in Tucson AZ, then went to San Diego CA, then to me in Austin TX. It does not know what rust or
salty roads are. To be honest, there is rust in the exhaust system.
It is a very original car but by no means perfect. Second owner changed the color to silver before putting it back
to the correct green. Front bumper is fiberglass rather than urethane. Has composite mono leaf rear spring with
adjustable strut rods. I drove car, including trip from TX to Bloomington Gold, but when it hit 50k miles I parked
it as I did not want to put more miles on it. Big mistake. Just spent, last month, over $3000 getting it drivable
and safe for the road (brakes, tires, tune, etc). Car has a paint blemish on rear deck which was there when I got
the car (shown in the pictures). Apparently too damp when deck was painted.
Car has a Jenson stereo installed but I have an original stereo from a 73, that is weak on one channel, that will
go with car. It also has an after market leather steering wheel installed and I have an original wheel that will go
with it. Heater core leaks so is currently bypassed, have replacement core. Also have several boxes or misc 73
parts collected over the years that goes with the car.
I do have the emission parts in a box, not on car. Someone had used a bolt cutter to get the air tubes off of one
side so I have a new set if air tubes for the car.
A/C was working when car was parked. Have only driven it twice since getting it back from the shop and have not
tried the A/C so must assume that it will at least need charging.

Chevrolet planning low-cost Corvette under Stingray?

Wed, 27 Feb 2013

If you're burnt out on musings about the Chevrolet Corvette, you'll want to go ahead and skip this post. Motor Trend reports General Motors is hard at work on a low-cost version of the seventh-generation sports car for 2015. Rumored to be called the Corvette Coupe, the car will forgo the Stingray and skip the 450-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine in favor of a 5.3-liter V8 with under 400 ponies. If you're keeping track, that's a shade of the same engine found behind the headlights of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.
The report also suggests the Coupe will receive a number of aesthetic tweaks to separate it from the Stingray, including different front and rear fascias as well as new front fenders and a rear diffuser. Motor Trend says the point of all this is to cut the car's price tag, which means we may see a Corvette on showroom floors for less than $50,000 if this car comes to fruition.

Camaro spy shots show subtly different grille, front fascia

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

It looks like there some changes in store for the Chevrolet Camaro - the only thing is that we just don't know what Chevy has up its sleeve. Looking at these spy shots, we'd initially be inclined to think that there is just a minor facelift or a new special edition, but upon closer inspection, there are a few oddities about this car that definitely have us intrigued.
The most obvious difference on this prototype is the slightly restyled front fascia with a smaller lower air inlet and the two-bar grille. Then we get to some of the car's mysterious details. For starters, this fascia has the SS vent above the grille, but it looks to be blocked off. Granted this could just be a one-off piece used for testing. What really piqued our interest was at the rear of the car where it has quad exhaust outlets that are used on the ZL1. Could this be the LS7-powered Camaro that we reported on back in December?
At this point, your guess is as good as ours as to what we're looking at here, so let us know in the comments what you think this could be.

Callaway debuts its new C7 Stingray at National Corvette Museum

Fri, 02 May 2014

Callaway showed off its first tuned version of the 2014 Corvette Stingray at the National Corvette Museum last week, giving the rampant enthusiasts of America's sports car a look at the roughly 620-horsepower, supercharged rocket.
Unlike the Corvette SC610 we showed you back in January, this Stingray packs a fair bit more oomph. Horsepower is only up ten ponies, but torque has jumped from 556 pound-feet to "at least" 600 pound-feet. Neither horsepower nor torque is official quite yet, although Callaway is expecting to know just what its creation can do once testing and validation is completed later this month.
The 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 now boasts a new, three-element intercooler, which Callaway claims only allowed the inlet air temperature to increase by ten degrees Fahrenheit during dyno runs. Previous designs saw a 35-degree-Fahrenheit jump. The exhaust system has also been fettled with, and now is even less restrictive.
