Time to get your hands on a piece of history. Nothing better represents American muscle more then the Chevrolet Corvette. Here is a fine example of that. The current owner has had this beauty in the stables for a little over 10 years. It doesn't get driven that much so it's time for somebody else to enjoy it. The numbers matching engine was completely removed and rebuilt in 2009. While the engine was out he also had the transmission completely refurbished. There are receipts in excess of $4000 for all the work that was done. Only 500 miles have been put on the car since then. All the rotors, pads and calipers have been replaced as well. While the work was done the trailing arms were inspected and are in great condition. Mechanically this Vette need nothing, just turn the key and go! The interior is very clean for its age showing little wear on the leather seats. The dash pad is not cracked and in like new condition. The door panels are all very straight. Everything works except for the a/c which more then likely just needs a re-charge from sitting so long. The glass t-tops are chrome tinted, and all the seals are good. The headlights, as you can see in the picture, are fully operational. On the outside the body is very straight. The "Classic White" paint is radiant in the sun. It does show it's age in some spots, with a few very small stress cracks on the bumpers which is typical for a car of this age. The aluminum rims are all true and sit on Goodyear Eagle's which have very little wear. I am selling this for someone locally and if you have any questions I would be happy to ask him for you. Man surprises girlfriend with C7 Corvette
Mon, 07 Oct 2013How would you react if someone just showed up at your place of work with a new, 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, complete with all the trimmings? While a lot of us would likely be flipping out over the still rare sports car, it's a fair bet many more of us would be responding like Pattie here, whose boyfriend stopped by her work to show her her new C7.
Speechless and shocked as she seems, she does end up taking it out for a drive, despite claiming she wasn't really outfitted to handle the car's seven-speed manual transmission at the time. From the sound of the video, we got the impression that she knew the car was coming, just not that it was anywhere near ready for delivery. Fewer than 1 in 3 Chevy dealers earn right to initially sell C7 Corvette
Mon, 01 Apr 2013Looking to make the launch of the 2014 Corvette Stingray as efficient as possible, Chevrolet will be limiting the numbers of its dealers that can sell the all-new coupe and convertible. According to Automotive News, sales of the C7 Corvette will initially be limited to less than a third of Chevy's total dealership network when the 'Vette goes on sale this summer.
Only 900 dealers out of more than 3,000 locations nationwide will be allowed to sell the new Corvette at first, and the reason for this is so that there are no shortages at dealers that can actually get the cars sold. The article says that the 900 dealerships chosen represented 80 percent of total Corvette sales in 2012.
Some of the requirements dealers had to make to get initial allocation of Stingray sales include having sold at least four Corvettes in 2012 and having a Corvette Stingray specialist who will be required to have gone through a training session costing more than $2,000 per attendee. Once demand for the 2014 Corvette Stingray begins to subside - approximately six to nine months after it goes on sale - then allocation could open up to more dealers, but the report indicates this could happen following the 2014 model year.
GM dealers unhappy about pickup prices
Mon, 21 Oct 2013The backlash is beginning. Following General Motors' price hike of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra last week, dealers across the country are expressing their ire over increasing prices in the face of rebates and discounts on trucks from Ford and Ram.
Speaking to Automotive News, Sam Pilato, the general manager at Dimmitt Chevrolet in Clearwater, FL, Silverados are "selling very poorly." W. Carrol Smith, the president of Monument Chevrolet in the heart of truck country, Texas, said, "[GM's] position is that the vehicle stands on its own and it doesn't need a bigger rebate. That's not what the market is telling us."
According to AN, that's the general attitude amongst Chevy and GMC dealers across the country, where the twin pickups are getting butchered in sales by competitors offering up to $9,000 off their sticker prices. Part of the problem for GM is that its trucks are arriving on the market near the end of the current F-150's lifecycle, a fact that Ford has taken advantage of.
