I am the third owner and responsible for all the customization and paint. The first Owner had the car for 4 years, and the second Owner had the car until 2007, when I bought it. The second owner kept it garaged and a record of all repairs. I have the original build sheet, proving it is an SS, because there was no visible evidence of it, when purchased. That's the past. The transformation was done 2008 and the car has just been driven and enjoyed since, it has been a great piece of advertising, because of the attention it draws, just going to get milk ! If your in the Witness Protection Program, THIS ISN'T THE CAR FOR YOU !  It sits on 18" Foose wheels, has been lowered 2" in the front and has AirRide Technologies Bags in the rear. Complete ground effects kit, steel cowl induction hood, filled tailgate, electric doors(no handles), roll pan, Aluminum framed Tonneu Cover,  Kenwood CD/USB/Bluetooth stereo. Interior is all original, and in very good/excellent cond. Under the hood is all stock, A.C. has been converted to R-134, added chrome valve covers, brand new die hard battery. Outside, the car was purchased because it had such a flawless body. Not so much as, a door ding, in the original paint, but it had the little spiders in the paint that all cars from that era had. So, I completely stripped the paint, performed all modifications, did all necessary prep, and layed out this stunning Pearl yellow/orange mix, separating the Violette Candy Apple lower, with a Gold Leaf Tribal graphic, outlined in ragged lime green. The hood has ghosted real fire/skulls. There are a couple of very tiny minor chips, but no one ever notices because the car is so stunning. Otherwise, the paint and body are flawless. exterior trim is good, with the exception of the rubber, in the window reveal mouldings.

Fewer than 1 in 3 Chevy dealers earn right to initially sell C7 Corvette

Mon, 01 Apr 2013

Looking to make the launch of the 2014 Corvette Stingray as efficient as possible, Chevrolet will be limiting the numbers of its dealers that can sell the all-new coupe and convertible. According to Automotive News, sales of the C7 Corvette will initially be limited to less than a third of Chevy's total dealership network when the 'Vette goes on sale this summer.
Only 900 dealers out of more than 3,000 locations nationwide will be allowed to sell the new Corvette at first, and the reason for this is so that there are no shortages at dealers that can actually get the cars sold. The article says that the 900 dealerships chosen represented 80 percent of total Corvette sales in 2012.
Some of the requirements dealers had to make to get initial allocation of Stingray sales include having sold at least four Corvettes in 2012 and having a Corvette Stingray specialist who will be required to have gone through a training session costing more than $2,000 per attendee. Once demand for the 2014 Corvette Stingray begins to subside - approximately six to nine months after it goes on sale - then allocation could open up to more dealers, but the report indicates this could happen following the 2014 model year.

GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value

Thu, 12 Jun 2014

Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.

Dodge vs. Chevy tug-of-war taken to the extreme

Mon, 17 Dec 2012

They say "idle hands are the devil's playground," but said playgrounds grow to Disney-sized proportions when a pair of jacked-up trucks, two egos, a chain and an empty mall parking lot are involved. Proof of this is the video below, which shows a Cummins-powered Dodge Ram circa 2006 to 2008 chained tail-to-tail with what looks to be a gasoline-powered Chevrolet Silverado from the late 1990s or early 2000s.
We don't necessarily have to tell you who wins this battle, but we'll let you see for yourself the lengths the "winning" driver goes to prove his point. There's plenty of foul language in the video below, so beware that this might be Not Safe For Work, and not that we should have to tell you, but please, do not try this at home.
