I have up for sale a  1972 Chevy EL Camino.  The car is in very good  shape.  The paint is about 2 years old, and has always been garaged kept. It has a scratch on the passenger door that can easily be repaired.  The interior is about a year old in the car.  Everything on the inside is brand new from the headliner to the carpet.  The car has a Pro Ratchet B & M shifter.  It comes with autometer gauges and a autometer tach.  It was an air conditioned car, but it doesn't have air condition at this point.  The engine is about a year old.  It has maybe 2000 miles on it. It is a 461 big block chevy, thats a 454 Chevy block bored 30 over if you are wondering.  The motor is 9 to 1 compression.  It has TRW forged pistons, double timing chain, semi closed chamber heads, high torque starter and a Isky hydraulic cam.  It also has crane roller rockers, an Eldebrock aluminum intake, with a modified 750 double pump holley carb.  The transmission is a freshly built turbo 400 with an 3000 stall converter.  It also has a full MSD 6-AL ingnition system including billet MSD distributor.  The rear end is a 12 bolt.  It has 33 spline strange axles with half inch studs, a full spool with a 373 gear.  It also has coil overs shocks on the rear end.  The wheels are special order Greg Weld racing wheels.  The back are 10in and the front are 3in.  The rear tires are 31 x 10 and completely tuck under the car for that killer pro street look.  Overall, this is one bad El Camino.  Super fun to drive , tons of power and at the same time dependable.

GM dealers unhappy about pickup prices

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

The backlash is beginning. Following General Motors' price hike of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra last week, dealers across the country are expressing their ire over increasing prices in the face of rebates and discounts on trucks from Ford and Ram.
Speaking to Automotive News, Sam Pilato, the general manager at Dimmitt Chevrolet in Clearwater, FL, Silverados are "selling very poorly." W. Carrol Smith, the president of Monument Chevrolet in the heart of truck country, Texas, said, "[GM's] position is that the vehicle stands on its own and it doesn't need a bigger rebate. That's not what the market is telling us."
According to AN, that's the general attitude amongst Chevy and GMC dealers across the country, where the twin pickups are getting butchered in sales by competitors offering up to $9,000 off their sticker prices. Part of the problem for GM is that its trucks are arriving on the market near the end of the current F-150's lifecycle, a fact that Ford has taken advantage of.

Next-gen Chevy Cruze caught cruising in the cold

Wed, 13 Feb 2013

Spy photographers have caught what looks like the next-generation Chevrolet Cruze out on snow patrol. The camo could be tricking our eyes, but it look like it has an even tidier, more rounded front end and even lower fenders in relation to the top of the hood. And either a chunk of camo has been wedged between the side mirrors and the doors, or the mirrors are up for revision, too.
The door handles have been moved up the side of the car, leading the way to a rear end that grows a bit in length. If the rumors are true, the coming second-generation Cruze sits on the new D2XX platform that will replace the Delta and Theta platforms at General Motors. A global architecture, the Cruze will be the first to get it, but it will underpin everything from next Chevrolet Volt to the Equinox and could be responsible for 2.5 million units by 2018. The next Cruze is expected to begin production in GM's Lordstown, Ohio plant in the third quarter of 2014.

Chevrolet planning low-cost Corvette under Stingray?

Wed, 27 Feb 2013

If you're burnt out on musings about the Chevrolet Corvette, you'll want to go ahead and skip this post. Motor Trend reports General Motors is hard at work on a low-cost version of the seventh-generation sports car for 2015. Rumored to be called the Corvette Coupe, the car will forgo the Stingray and skip the 450-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine in favor of a 5.3-liter V8 with under 400 ponies. If you're keeping track, that's a shade of the same engine found behind the headlights of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.
The report also suggests the Coupe will receive a number of aesthetic tweaks to separate it from the Stingray, including different front and rear fascias as well as new front fenders and a rear diffuser. Motor Trend says the point of all this is to cut the car's price tag, which means we may see a Corvette on showroom floors for less than $50,000 if this car comes to fruition.
