True 1964 Impala SS with title.  Excellent parts car or candidate for a restoration.  Originally white with red, currently red with red.  Manual steering. Power brakes (drum).  Engine starts and runs good.  2-speed Powerglide shifts in and out of gears good.  Brake system has no fluid in it and needs repair to be operable.  Differential carrier is cracked and needs replacement to be operable.  Frame replaced with rectangular tubing from behind rear axle back.  Trunk floors rotted, inner wheel housings rotted. Floor pans in rear seat area have been patched and probably need repair/replacement as well as the floor braces.  Some rust on bottoms of rear quarters, bottoms of front fenders, driver side fender has some minor damage on the front also.  Outer rockers need repair/replacing.  Doors look solid and rust free.  Trunk lid has rot along bottom edge, tail pan is rotted.  Hood has minor rust along inside of front edge.  Interior is in very goo shape for original.  Some holes in the back of the front seats and outside seam is ripped on driver seat.  Rear seat is like new.  Door panels in good shape, could use new carpets as well as floor carpet.  A couple small holes in headliner, package tray is shot.  Will include a good used fuel tank with sending unit as there is not one in the car currently.  All trim is there and in decent to good shape.  All windows good and roll up/down nice.  Will include used set of shocks radiator shroud as well.  I bought this for a parts car, but only needed a few parts so I decided to buy them new/used and sell this whole.  Please ask any questions before bidding.  Car is sold "AS IS" with no warranty.  Shipping is buyers responsibility.

Chevy Corvette Stingray picks up another award, this time from Automobile

Mon, 18 Nov 2013

The new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has picked up another buff book accolade after capturing Road and Track's Performance Car of the Year award. The seventh-generation of America's sports car (sorry Viper, Mustang, et al.) has been named Automobile Magazine's Automobile of the Year.
Automobile's award to the Corvette over competitors is the mirror image of its rival Motor Trend, which named the Cadillac CTS its car of the year over the C7. The CTS was, according to the Automobile team, the closest contender to the mighty Stingray. Great news all around for General Motors it seems.
As for what pushed the Corvette past its distant, four-door cousin, Automobile commended its excellent, 6.2-liter V8 calling the car's performance "simply awesome" while also remarking that it is easier to drive fast than ever before thanks to steering and chassis tweaks. Following a theme set by other publications, there were also plaudits for the interior, of all things, with the buff book complimenting the car's ergonomics and material quality, while also praising the standard seats.

Use this PowerPoint when convincing your spouse to let you buy a Corvette

When you are not the one in charge of the purse strings, creativity is a must when trying to get the string-holder to bankroll that next shiny object you just can't live without.
When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.
