1969 Chevrolet Impala Survivor, Low Mileage Unrestored Original, Complete on 2040-cars

Year:1969 Mileage:35000
Location:

Sheridan, Wyoming, United States

Sheridan, Wyoming, United States

This is an all original, unrestored, low mileage 1969 Chevrolet Impala. Paint, interior, drivetrain, etc are all original and have never been touched. This is a true survivor car that is just like they came out of the dealer in 1969. This car drives great and represents the ride of the late 60s and early 70s. It feels like you are gliding down the road, no wind noise, no squeaks, no rattles. It is a different feel than you get from modern cars that have a typically harsh ride. It really puts you back in time.

The odometer show 15232 miles. The speedometer works but the odometer does not advance. With that, I don't know what the exact mileage of this car is. Based on the lack of visible wear on the carpet scuff pad under the brake pedal, the lack of wear on the brake and gas pedal, the cleanliness and lack of buildup inside of the engine, and the lack of any wear within the carburetor, my best guess is that this vehicle has no more than 35,000 original miles.

The engine compartment is complete and is missing nothing. The bale on the brake master cylinder still has the plastic tag on it from the original assembly at the factory. All wiring is in perfect condition with all original connectors. I installed a rebuilt kit in the original carburetor. These Quadrajets always need bushings installed in the primary throttle shaft bores. This one was perfect with no play or evidence of any wear. The accelerator pump lever is also a common item to show wear. Again, there was no wear on this lever. The upper radiator hose is original with the original clamps. The lower hose had been changed at some point. New plugs and wires have also been installed.  There is a picture through the oil fill hole that shows how clean the interior of the engine is. There is no oil buildup at all. The heads are the typical 441 castings. The engine is the 255 hp 350.

The transmission is a Turbohydromatic 350.  It upshifts and downshifts flawlessly. There is absolutely no slip. The transmission fluid looks and smells clean.

The rear axle is a stock, non-positrac 12 bolt. I have not checked the codes but it is most likely a 3:08 ratio.

Tires are newer with all season tread. The hold air just fine.

The trunk in this car is flawless and speaks to the low mileage. There is no rust or damage in the trunk. The spare tire does not hold air. All original bumper jack pieces are there and in great shape except for the wing nut. It is missing.

The interior of this car is just incredible. There is no visible wear on any part, The dash pad is not cracked or faded. The seats are in beautiful original condition. The front carpet is in great condition but has the appearance of some very minor fading if you look at it closely. The drivers side scuff pad shows no wear. The brake and gas pedals are also in great shape with no signs of wear.

There was apparently an 8 track tape player installed under the dash, in the area of the ash tray. The mounting plate is still there. There are also what appears to be some aftermarket speakers installed on the hinge pillars between the front and rear doors. These are in great shape and are probably from the early 70s.

All glass in the vehicle is original and in great shape, including the windshield. The stainless window mouldings are also in great shape. Door handles, emblems, and other chrome items are free of any pitting or corrosion.

The front clip is in near perfect condition with the exception of the right lower fender. There is rust as shown in the pictures. The rear wheel wells also have a very small amount of rust as shown.

The paint on this car is all original. It is only lightly oxidized and could be polished. I left it alone as I felt this car should be left untouched.

This is a unique example of an all original car from another time. I have driven it around town and on the local rural roads and enjoyed it very much. You really get peoples attention with a car like this because you just don't see them around much anymore. Whoever gets this car will certainly enjoy it!

Chevy Camaro is a good sport, wishes Ford Mustang Happy 50th

Tue, 15 Apr 2014

It was 1966 when Chevrolet launched its challenger to the wildly successful Ford Mustang, the Camaro. While the competition between the two brands was already healthy, the arrival of the Camaro set off one of the most intense, model-to-model rivalries in the industry.
That competitive spirit hasn't stopped Chevy and the Camaro from wishing Ford's iconic muscle car a Happy 50th Birthday as the Ford's April 17 anniversary rolls around. These two cars have been linked over the years, and while the rivalry took a break for a few years in the 2000s, today's competition between the Camaro and Mustang is as fierce as it's ever been.
You might recall that this friendliness when it comes to major milestones isn't too rare. Ford put on quite a display for General Motors' hundredth anniversary back in 2008. As the Camaro's fiftieth birthday approaches in 2016, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Mustang sending its best wishes to its Bowtie rival.

2014 Chevy Silverado High Country spied wearing trappings of new luxury trim

Wed, 03 Apr 2013

Spy photographers have spotted the new Chevrolet Silverado High Country and GMC Sierra Denali out on public streets for a little testing. From the looks of things, the Silverado will receive a much-differentiated front fascia along with special badges and those honking 20-inch chrome wheels. Expect to find a more posh interior as well. Likewise, the Sierra Denali will wear a tweaked nose with the familiar Denali bling. The one of the GMC trucks spotted here rolls on 21-inch gunmetal wheels instead of the 20-inch chrome pieces of the High Country.
Word has it both trucks will go on sale after the Texas State Fair this summer. While General Motors hasn't said for certain what we can expect to find under the hood, we'd be surprised to see anything outside of the range of engines found in the standard Silverado and Sierra models. That means buyers should be able to get their hands on the efficient, 23-miles per gallon 5.3-liter V8.

Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray

Fri, 25 Oct 2013

We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. Take a look below for all six videos from the series, or hop over to the Corvette Vimeo channel for the interactive experience, where you can see all the different metrics.
