I have a 1995 Impala SS that I took on trade for one of my mustangs. I've had it about 2 weeks but I have a few other projects I could use the money for. The car is pretty nice shape. It's not perfect. It has some dings, the rear gas tank straps are rusted out and will need to be replaced. I just have ratchet straps on there now just to be safe. The tank isn't going to fall off or anything. The drivers window goes down crooked sometimes but I have a little window kit that came with the car. It has SLP headers, axle dumps for exhaust so it's kind of loud. There's about $4,000 in receipts for the car. The trans is rebuilt and has a shift kit. I have an $1,800 dollar receipt for that. There's also about $900 in Hotchkis suspension components on the car. The previous owner kept receipts for everything as far as oil changes and repairs made to the car. I can help get the car to potential buyers. It can be trailered or probably driven to where it needs to go. I haven't had any issues with it and looked it over pretty good. Fri, 08 Mar 2013Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.

Tue, 19 Mar 2013This year's 12 Hours of Sebring wasn't exactly a foregone conclusion because we're still talking about racing, and anything can happen when the speeds are as high as the adrenaline and the desire. But we're still talking about Audi bringing it's two top-spec racers - and its huge budget and its nearly neurotic attention to detail - to a race that it uses as a test bed for The 24 Hours of Le Mans and as a way to open the endurance racing season with a victory.
Besides, 12 hours is a long time, especially at Sebring, and things didn't go all Audi's way. On top of that, although it was a pretty quiet race, behind the Audis things got even grimier, with plenty of battles, plenty of mechanical issues, and the new BMW Z4 GTE and Viper GTS-R being race tested. Oh, and that brand new chromed-out DeltaWing...
Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept blends the past and the future
Wed, 19 Nov 2014The Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo is the rare concept car that salutes a seminal moment in history, yet also borders on science fiction.
Revealed Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the concept uses the name of one of Chevy's historic racing partnerships, with Chaparral Racing, which dates to the 1960s. Chaparrals raced successfully at a range of levels, including IndyCar, Trans-Am and SCCA competition.
But the history ends there, as the concept's main purpose is as a racecar in a downloadable update for the PlayStation 3 game Gran Turismo 6.
