I am selling my 1988 Monte Carlo SS. I got this car two summers ago to work on and finish but ran into a speed bump when the windshield flew up while driving. This has custom chameleon paint, custom rebuilt engine and transmission. I have every receipt from everything that has been done to the car and the engine. This car is sweet and just needs a few more things to finish it. With a few finishing touches this thing will most likely push 400-450hp. It has multiple thousands of dollars put into it. 3 Speed 350 turbo tranny with a B&M pro ratchet shifter. Aftermarket Grant steering wheel. It has an aftermarket stereo in it that could use some rewiring. It is fast and fun but like I said the hood flew up while driving and did some damage. It is a true SS with a built 350. Has aftermarket cam, pistons, lifters, MSD ignition and much much more. The interior is in amazing shape. Has no a/c. It only has 2,753 since the engine rebuild. Fan is run off switch as well as ignition. Stock SS gears. Shorty headers with custom exhaust. I did not rebuild this but bought it from the person who did. I do not have the time to finish her and I know with the right person she will be a great car!!

Rebuild Parts:
~Proform 66907c Roller - Rocker Arm set
~Comp 812-16 High Energy Cams, Hydraulic lifters
~Comp 12-212-2 Cams Magnum Camshaft
~B&M 30262 Turbo Hydramatic 350 Shift Kit
~B&M Pro Ratchet Shifter
~Holley Carb 4150 Carburetor
~MSD 6AL Ignition
~MSD Pro-Billet Distributor
~Plus More

Here is the bad:
~New unsanded and unpainted 3" cowl hood.
~New unpainted drivers side fender
~New weatherstripping kit for doors and trunk
~Dent on drivers door, from hood
~Dent on roof from hood
~Something is drawing constant power, which is killing the battery. Has in-line fuse right now
~Some damage to rear wheelwell. Has extra wide tires in the back but stock suspension.
~Starter is going out. (Lifetime Warranty with receipt)
~Clunk sometimes in the front end when turning
~Leak in radiator. (Currently out of car)

Chevy Corvette gets Valet Mode with Performance Data Recorder [w/video]

Mon, 18 Aug 2014

For the 2015-model-year, Chevrolet introduces Valet Mode for the Corvette, an enhancement to the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) already available and to your peace of mind. The PDR already captures 720p HD video with a windshield-mounted camera, records interior audio with a cabin microphone and gathers telemetry data using GPS, saving the data to an SD card in the glovebox. You can then watch your track-day antics with various information overlays on the center console screen.
Valet Mode will let you hit 'Replay' when your car gets pulled up front smelling vaguely of fricasseed clutch. Turned on by entering a four-digit code, it also locks the interior storage spaces and turns off the infotainment system. It can't be turned off until the code is re-entered. There's a press release below with more information as well as a video that explains how it works, with the obligatory dig at the 'Vette's biggest foe.

Chevrolet planning low-cost Corvette under Stingray?

Wed, 27 Feb 2013

If you're burnt out on musings about the Chevrolet Corvette, you'll want to go ahead and skip this post. Motor Trend reports General Motors is hard at work on a low-cost version of the seventh-generation sports car for 2015. Rumored to be called the Corvette Coupe, the car will forgo the Stingray and skip the 450-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine in favor of a 5.3-liter V8 with under 400 ponies. If you're keeping track, that's a shade of the same engine found behind the headlights of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.
The report also suggests the Coupe will receive a number of aesthetic tweaks to separate it from the Stingray, including different front and rear fascias as well as new front fenders and a rear diffuser. Motor Trend says the point of all this is to cut the car's price tag, which means we may see a Corvette on showroom floors for less than $50,000 if this car comes to fruition.

GM recalling over 243,000 crossovers over possible seat belt defect

2010 Buick Enclave - Click above for high-res image gallery
The summer of 2010's recall hit parade continues unabated today, with General Motors having just announced that it is asking 243,403 owners of its 2009-2010 Lambda crossovers to bring their three-row haulers in for inspection. The culprit? Second-row seat belts in select Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Saturn Outlook CUVs have "failed to perform properly in a crash."
According to GM, a second-row seat-side trim piece is to blame, as it can impede the upward rotation of the buckle after the seat is folded flat. As a result, if the buckle makes contact with the seat frame, cosmetic damage can occur, potentially requiring additional force to operate the buckle properly. So far, no great shakes, but in the process of applying that additional force, the occupant may push the buckle cover down to the strap, potentially revealing and depressing the red release button. As a result of this, the belt may not latch, or in certain cases, it may actually appear to be latched when, in fact, it isn't.
