VERY UNIQUE 600 HP (ON 91 OCTANE) 3200 POUND PRO TOURING GM A BODY! THIS IS NOT JUST ANOTHER CHEVELLE! TURN EVERY HEAD AND OUT RUN ANYTHING ON THE STREET! FULLY FRESHLY RESTORED, LESS THAN 200 MILES ON BUILD! OVERDRIVE TRANS, VERY FAST & HANDLES LIKE ITS ON A RAIL!! DRIVE ANYWHERE!

I'm selling my 1971 Monte Carlo Super Sport. It has been fully rebuilt and customized top to bottom. EVERYTHING HAS BEEN REPLACED!! THIS IS A BRAND NEW CAR!! WE STARTED WITH A RUST FREE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA BODY (SEE PICS). This build took 3 years and over $60k ($15k in paint alone) and unfortunately I have to sell it to finance a new business endeavor. Here are the details of the build:
Engine:
The engine is a GM crate 454 4 bolt main block bored 60 over. It has SRP 10.9 to 1 pistons, big mutha thumper .600 lift cam, Brodix roller rockers & aluminum heads, Weind intake, Pete Jackson noisy gear drive, HOLLEY ULTRA HP 950 DOUBLE PUMPER BILLET AND BLACK, MSD ignition, MARCH BILLET ALUMINUM SERPENTINE PULLEY SYSTEM, Mellings high volume oil pump, Hooker headers with heat wrap, high torque mini starter, DUAL ELECTRONIC EXHAUST CUT OUTS, & custom built dual cold air intake. Desk top dyno says engine will make over 620 hp but due to engine having less than 200 miles we have not dyno'd it.

Trans and Rear end: Transmission is a Stage Three 700r4 from Bowtie Overdrives rated for 700 hp. CUSTOM BUILT DRIVESHAFT WITH 95 WALL TUBING RATED FOR 700 HP. The rear axle is a Moser 12 bolt with 4.11 gears. With the 27" tall tires and overdrive trans this thing cruises at 80mph at 2500 rpm! Has Ladder bars & launches HARD!!

Suspension & Brakes
The suspension bushings have all been replaced with polyurethane including sway bars. The control arms are boxed front and rear, upper and lower. Springs have been replaced with Hotchkis lowering springs. Hawk racing pads front and rear. Massive wide tires front and rear (BFG TA radials, 295/50r15s on 10" wide rims rear). fast ratio steering box and all new steering. This car truly corners perfectly flat!!! It will hang with anything in the canyons or on a road course. WE CHOSE THE MONTE CARLO DUE TO ITS NASCAR ROOTS. THIS CAR WAS BUILT FROM THE FACTORY WITH THE ENGINE RECESSED 4" TO IMPROVE HANDLING FOR NASCAR RACING & IT IS VERY EVIDENT HOW EFFECTIVE IT IS WHEN COMPARING THE HANDLING OF THIS CAR TO A CHEVELLE.

PAINT AND BODY
THIS CAR HAS FIBERGLASS FENDERS AND HOOD WITH SHAVED FIREWALL DROPPING HUNDREDS OF POUNDS OFF THE WEIGHT!! Body was a rust free socal body that was treated to a $15k two tone gloss black/satin black paint job with ghost emblems by Next AutoBody in Simi Valley California. They used this car to represent their shop at car shows, feel free to Call the owner Christian and ask him the quality of this paint job.
INTERIOR
Interior is 100% new. Original SS gauge cluster was rebuilt. Dash is custom hand built as is the center console. Has Ozark race seats and new rear seat as well as all new door panels, head liner, and POWER WINDOWS. Has RKS race seat belts. DYNOMAT THROUGHOUT!!! VERY QUIET INSIDE

Every little piece on this car has been replaced or rebuilt even the fuel sending unit & tank have been replaced. This car looks and is 100% new front to rear. Both bumpers have been replaced as well as mirrors, door handles, door locks, ect. WAY MUCH NEW STUFF TO LIST. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, FEEL FREE TO CALL ME AT (805)558-8651.

Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.

Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.
