THIS CAR WAS A 6 YEAR PROJECT THAT I TOOK MY TIME TO CUSTOM BUILD. THE CAR HAS BEEN 100% FULLY RESTORED,WITH NO CHEAP COMPONENTS WHAT SO EVER, NOTHING BUT THE BEST, I BUILT THE CAR MAINLY TO TAKE TO CAR SHOWS BUT IT ALSO HAS BEEN TO THE DRAG STRIP SEVERAL TIMES. THE CAR RAN INTO THE HIGH 10'S WITHOUT SLICKS,NOT BAD IF YOU ASK ME. I WANTED TO BUILD  SOMETHING DIFFERENT I WAS TIERD OF CHROME ON OLD CARS,SO I PAINTED ALL THE TRIM AND BUMPERS AND ALL MOLDINGS A STAIN BLACK. OK LET ME START THE CAR HAS A 468 BIG BLOCK MOTOR WITH AROUND 550 HORSEPOWER, IRON HEADS THAT HAVE BEEN WORKED ON TO MAKE MORE POWER, EAGLE STEEL CRANK, EAGLE STEEL RODS, S.R.P 10.5 COMP PISTONS, ISKY SOILD CAMSHAFT WITH .560 LIFT, SO THE CAR WOULD BE VERY STREET FRIENDLY. WEIAND SINGLE PLANE INTAKE MANIFOLD,WITH A 800CFM DEMON DR CARB. THE CAR RUNS 1/2 INCH HARDLINE FUEL LINE FROM THE TANK TO THE ENGINE BAY, THEN BLUE 1/2 INCH FLEX HOSE THAT RUNS TO A FUEL COOL CAN,THEN TO THE CARB WITH DUAL FEED FUEL LINES WITH A FUEL PRESSURE GAUGE AT THE REGULATOR DONE PROFESSIONALLY. 20 GALLON ALUM FUEL TANK WITH A 140 GPH FUEL PUMP. THE WHOLE CAR WAS DYNAMATED TO KEEP SOUND TO A MINIMUM AND HEAT OUTSIDE. FOR INTERIOR THEIRS GREY/BLACK PROCAR SPORTSMAN SEATS WITH 4 POINT HARNESS. INSIDE IS PAINTED ORION SILVER WITH BLACK DOOR PANELS. ALSO THE DOORS HANDLES HAVE BEEN SHAVED WITH ELECTRONIC DOOR ACTUATORS TO OPEN THE DOORS. FOR SAFETY I ALSO INSTALLED LEVERS OUTSIDE OF THE CAR TO , TO OPEN IN CASE OF A EMERGENCY OR IF THE CAR LOSES BATTERY POWER, AND IT IS REQUIRED AT MOST RACE TRACKS TOO.  I ALSO HAVE A BACK SEAT AND CARPET KIT AND HEADLINER KIT, BUT I NEVER INSTALLED THEM BECAUSE I LIKED THE WAY THE CAR LOOKED AND I GET ALOT OF COMPLEMENTS THE WAY IT IS. ALL AUTO METER GAUGES,FUEL,VOLTS,TEMP,OIL PRESSURE,160 MPH SPEEDO,8,000 RPM TACH WITH ADJUSTABLE SHIFT LIGHT. FLAMING RIVER TILT STEERING COLUMN,FLAMING RIVER EVOLUZIONE STERRING WHEEL WITH MOUNTED TRANSBRAKE BUTTON, HURST QUARTER STICK SHIFTER WITH LINE LOCK BUTTON ON SHIFTER KNOB. OK THE CAR IS PAINTED A 1996 VIPER RED WITH SEVEN COATS OF CLEAR COAT, ALL PPG PAINT. BUMPERS,MOLDINGS,TRIM,GRILLE ETC ARE PAINTED A SATIN BLACK. 2-3? INCH STEEL COWL HOOD, THE WHOLE CAR IS STEEL NO FIBERGLASS PARTS,  ALSO THE FRONT VENT COWL BELOW THE WINDSHIELD WAS REMOVED AND A NEW ONE PIECE COWL INSTALLED TO GIVE IT A STEALTH LOOK. CAR IS STRAIGHT AS AN ARROW, PAINTED AND BLOCK SANDED THREE TIMES, THATS WHAT IT TAKES TO GET A FINSH LIKE THAT, THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS A ONE SHOT PAINT JOB IF YOU WANT A SHOW FINSH. 15 INCH BLACK RALLY RIMS WITH BLACK CENTER CAPS, BFG TIRES UP FRONT AND BFG DRAG RADIALS IN THE BACK. THAT SHOULD PRETTY MUCH SUMMARISE EVERYTHING ABOUT THE CAR ITEMS  AND WHATS BEEN DONE TO IT. THE CAR HAS BEEN INDOORS ALL THE TIME I'VE OWNED IT FOR, NEVER WASHED IT WITH WATER FROM A HOSE OR CAR WASH ANYWHERE, JUST DEIONIZED WATER WIPED DOWN WITH A DETAIL CLOTH. CAR RUNS ON PUMP GAS WITH NO PROBLEMS. I SPENT WELL OVER SEVENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS AND SIX LONG YEARS TO MAKE THIS CAR LOOK THE WAY IT DOES.  SO FINALLY THIS IS A ONE OF A KIND VIPER RED NOVA THAT I RESTORED AND TOOK MY TIME TO CUSTOMIZE. 2014 Chevy Cruze Diesel destined for Chicago debut

It's been a little over a year and a half since General Motors first confirmed plans to offer a diesel-powered Chevrolet Cruze here in the United States, and we've now learned that the oil-burning compact will debut under the lights of the Chicago Auto Show in February. According to GM Authority, the Cruze Eco-D will be introduced as part of the entire 2014 model year Cruze range, set to go on sale in the second quarter of this year.
Earlier reports have indicated that the diesel Cruze will be able to achieve fuel economy numbers in the range of 50 miles per gallon. For comparison, the similarly sized Volkswagen Jetta TDI is rated at 30/42 mpg city/highway, but as we found out in our long-term test of the 2011 model, hitting 50 mpg was a piece of cake.
Official specifications will be released at the time of the 2014 Cruze's unveiling, though reports have stated that the sedan will be powered by a reworked version of the 2.0-liter turbo-diesel inline-four found in the Holden Cruze CDX overseas. In that application, the four-pot oil-burner produces 160 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque - increases of 20 hp and 29 lb-ft over the 2.0-liter engine used in VW's Jetta TDI.

GM looks to combat high theft rates on SUVs with added tech

The Cadillac Escalade has been at or near the top of most-stolen and insurance-loss lists for more than seven years, until it dropped to number six earlier this year. In 2011 it was fitted with a host of new security features to address its easy-to-override features and that has brought the number of thefts down, but when eight of the ten most stolen rides are large SUVs from General Motors, no one will argue that something else needs to be done.
Thus, GM has fitted this same theft-deterring tech to the 2015 Suburban, Tahoe and Yukon. The Suburban and Tahoe will get the steering lock that the Escalade and Yukon already get, plus bolted-down third-row seats to deter thefts like this, stronger door lock cylinders and shields, and side-cut keys to inhibit picking.
Additional security measures in a Theft Protection Package can be purchased for $395, consisting of sensors on the greenhouse glass and interior, an incline/tilt sensor and added "key control systems" to make it more difficult for the men in black balaclavas to steal what you bought.

2014 Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra full configurators truck in

You can now put prices to your wildest option-sheet dreams of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. A microsite for the full-size pickup truck twins has been up since January, and now the full-blown configurator is live and ready to take your virtual orders. The only two chassis configurations available at the moment are the Crew Cab with either a short or standard bed - Regular and Double Cab versions will come later. In Silverado flavors that will run you $32,710 for the short box, $33,010 for the standard box, while the Sierra adds a $1,500 premium to both of those prices, and destination and handling for both models adds another $995.
Since these are American pickups the list of modifications is lengthy, but we added $11,450 in just two steps by starting with the Silverado Crew Cab and standard bed, then checking four-wheel drive and the LTZ Z71 package. Our final truck, resplendent in Brownstone Metallic paint, heated and cooled Cocoa/Dune perforated leather seating and tasty details like chrome recovery hooks, and engine block heater and LED cargo box lighting, rang up $57,285 at the candy store.
They'll be on dealer lots sometime this summer, so now's a good time to start practicing your box-checking.
