1972 Chevrolet Nova Base Coupe 2-door 5.7l on 2040-cars
Rinard, Illinois, United States
For sale, a 72 Chevy Nova two door with solid body and floor pans. It has a mild 350 freshly rebuilt with less than 500 miles on it and a 350 trans. The body is in a base coat, it has had a lower rear quarter replaced on the driver side, all the glass is good, new tires on ralleys, power steering with new hoses, new carpet, beautiful car. It is a head turner as is or finish out the paint for a show winner. (More details to come) On Jun-14-14 at 20:27:45 PDT, seller added the following information: ok, more details about the Nova...I bought this car in Indiana about two years ago, before that it came from Georgia, it was a project in progress. The engine had just been rebuilt and set in the car, it was ran for the first time when I looked at the car just so I could hear it run. I buttoned things up under the hood such as installing the PS, belts, hoses, etc. It has a freshly rebuilt Q-Jet, HEI ignition, headers and cherry bombs. The tires are BF Goodrich Radial T/A 225 70SR 15 on original ralley wheels. The odometer shows 95508 miles but the engine has less than 500 miles on it, it has new subframe bushings, a hood scoop on the original hood, it has power steering with new hoses, it has black interior with bench seat (one seam has come apart on the driver side) and column shift, new carpet and arm rests, it does need a headliner-the bows are there but the liner has been taken out. The floor pans are solid (no rust and never been replaced), the driver side lower quarter has been replaced and both lower front fenders have been properly repaired, the trunk pan has been repaired (not a replacement pan) but it is solid. I have a new gas tank ordered and will be installing it this week. As stated, the body is in a base coat, it does need blocked to be finished out (there are some minor dings here and there, nothing major), all the glass is good, this is a solid car. It runs strong and is fun to drive, its a head turner as is. Please feel free to ask any questions, SERIOUS buyers can call me at 618 508 3652. I am moving on the 23rd of June and am motivated to sell this car quickly. thanks |

Pure Vision Design TT Camaro has 1,400 reasons to want it
Wed, 06 Nov 2013We've talked about Pure Vision Design before, a California-based company that made waves at last year's SEMA show with its Martini-liveried, Indy-car-powered Ford Mustang. That same car later starred in a Petrolicious video we showed you just a few weeks back. The company's latest creation is a menacing car it calls the Pure Vision Design TT Camaro. Based on a 1972 model, this car shares the Martini Mustang's clean styling and obsession with details.
Unlike the Mustang, which draws its power from a mid-60s Lotus-Ford Indycar engine, the "TT" in this Camaro's name implies something far more potent. The Nelson Racing Engines 427-cubic-inch V8 has been fitted with a pair of turbochargers, with a claimed output of 1,400 horsepower. That's almost 1,000 more than the Martini Mustang.
A six-speed Magnum transmission dispatches that power to the ground, while Pirelli PZero tires are tasked with (somehow) trying to grip the road. Baer brakes hide behind those HRE rims, while JRI coilovers and HyperTech springs bless the Camaro with some degree of competency in the bends.
Watch this time-lapse build of the Chevy SS for NASCAR
Fri, 08 Feb 2013There's only about a week left until we get our first look at the production version of the 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan, but Chevrolet NASCAR teams have been looking at the race version of the car all winter. Autoweek has posted a really neat time-lapse video showing just a portion of what it takes to build one of NASCAR's new Gen6 stock cars.
Though the video is quite brief, it does show almost the entire build process starting with just the car's nose, and it gives us a good look at how integral the template is to the final product. As a bonus, Hendrick Motorsports also provided some videos showing two of its teams performing pit stop tests over the winter. The second video shows some of the more detailed aspects of the racecar's rear end, including the stock-looking trunk cutout and a newly mandated rear bumper extension that will be used on super speedways like Daytona and Talladega.
To see what Team Chevy has been up to all off-season, check out all three videos posted after the jump.
Chevy Corvette gets Valet Mode with Performance Data Recorder [w/video]
Mon, 18 Aug 2014For the 2015-model-year, Chevrolet introduces Valet Mode for the Corvette, an enhancement to the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) already available and to your peace of mind. The PDR already captures 720p HD video with a windshield-mounted camera, records interior audio with a cabin microphone and gathers telemetry data using GPS, saving the data to an SD card in the glovebox. You can then watch your track-day antics with various information overlays on the center console screen.
Valet Mode will let you hit 'Replay' when your car gets pulled up front smelling vaguely of fricasseed clutch. Turned on by entering a four-digit code, it also locks the interior storage spaces and turns off the infotainment system. It can't be turned off until the code is re-entered. There's a press release below with more information as well as a video that explains how it works, with the obligatory dig at the 'Vette's biggest foe.
