Very Rare Blk Plate California 1964 Chevrolet Nova, azure Aqua,283v8,2bbl,195 Hp on 2040-cars
District Heights, Maryland, United States
Very Rare Black Plate California 1964 Chevrolet Nova, Azure Aqua, 283V8, 2BBL, 195 HP, Powerglide With Console-Mounted Shifter Beautiful Car! Description: I bought this rare V-8 Nova Super Sport while I was in Reno last summer at Hot August Nights. It is an original California "Black Plate" car in great condition. I had it shipped back home and advertised it. A young lady saw it and bought it, saying she had always wanted a classic Nova. We shipped the car to her in the Washington, DC area, and she has kept it in a mini-warehouse since. She has recently had the braking system completely restored, and it is in condition to drive anywhere. 1964 was the first year that the Chevy II was regularly produced with a V-8 engine, and most were 6-cylinder's. This is a rare and desirable car. The Californian that I bought it from had just had it refinished
in the original Azure Aqua, and the original chrome and moldings are excellent.
The floors and body panels are just what you would expect from a dry California
original. A new interior kit was installed at the time of the painting.
The California license tag is included in the sale, but the car is now
registered in Maryland. We still have a copy of the California title in
our file if the buyer would like to have that. Unfortunately, the young lady lost her job back in the Fall and
it is getting tough for her to keep it. As a 34-year veteran of the
Collector Car business, I will be representing the car and handling the
sale. The car is in the greater Washington, DC area at this time.
Questions may be directed to my cell at 803-351-3695 before 8:00PM Eastern Daylight
time, or respond to this ad via email. The car can be made available for
your inspection and a test drive with an appointment. Although it is
financially uncomfortable for her to keep this car, THIS IS NO FIRE SALE, and
the car will have to sell for its fair market value. A $1,000 deposit will have to be made through PayPal, and
scammers need not call or email. We've heard all of those stories.
Financing is available through JJ Best Collector Car Financing, and we can help
arrange worldwide shipping. Tom Mack Classics has been buying, selling, and trading in
quality Collector Cars since 1980. We are located at Lake Murray, near
Columbia, South Carolina. As with all of our collector cars, this special
Nova is sold AS-IS without any guarantees or warranty whatever. eBay requires a number in the mileage box, but this is an exempt mileage car so that number does not represent the actual mileage. |

Chevrolet planning low-cost Corvette under Stingray?
Wed, 27 Feb 2013If you're burnt out on musings about the Chevrolet Corvette, you'll want to go ahead and skip this post. Motor Trend reports General Motors is hard at work on a low-cost version of the seventh-generation sports car for 2015. Rumored to be called the Corvette Coupe, the car will forgo the Stingray and skip the 450-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine in favor of a 5.3-liter V8 with under 400 ponies. If you're keeping track, that's a shade of the same engine found behind the headlights of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.
The report also suggests the Coupe will receive a number of aesthetic tweaks to separate it from the Stingray, including different front and rear fascias as well as new front fenders and a rear diffuser. Motor Trend says the point of all this is to cut the car's price tag, which means we may see a Corvette on showroom floors for less than $50,000 if this car comes to fruition.
Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]
Sun, 03 Feb 2013The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.
2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Convertible offers a few more views before reveal
Mon, 04 Mar 2013Over the weekend, Chevrolet released its first images of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Now, ahead of the droptop's official introduction tomorrow at the Geneva Motor Show, the automaker has given us a few more shots of the softop C7 showing off the car's rump albeit from a high, strategically positioned angle.
From this angle, it's hard to get a sense for how long and flat the decklid really is, but we can easily see that, like the rest of the C7's design, the new convertible's decklid and tonneau cover are far more detailed than the current car. We also get a better look at the rear haunches sans brake vents, which have apparently been moved to underneath the car in order to accommodate the top's hard cover.
As for the overall styling of the C7 convertible, with the top erected, we get some idea of what a coupe design (as opposed to the Stingray's fastback shape) would look like on this car. The C5 Corvette most recently had a coupe model that did away with the large glass hatchback, and we recently reported on a low-cost "coupe" model potentially being added to the C7's repertoire.
