VIDEO PRESENTATION BELOW
The classic pre war lines of the early Chevy designs give it an unmistakable face and an old school look, with a tall grille and separated headlights make this a one of a kind ride. Texas Classic Cars of Dallas is proud to present this 1940 Chevrolet Pickup Truck.
Custom touches a completely new paint job, color is believed to be PPG "Champaing Pearl", the sheet metal is straight. Bright details call out the Chevrolet name in the front of the grille and the wood bed is an interesting and classic finish added to this 1940 Chevy.
Many of our photos are shot at the Frontiers of Flight Museum at the Dallas Love FIeld. This is a must see on your list of things to do the next time you'er in Dallas.
Nothing does it better than this handsome and practical pick up with its reliable Chevy power.
The bed could use a new coat of varnish, but is in very good condition.
The interior could be anyones taste, very well done and works with its exterior as it should. The color scheme goes perfect with this kind of truck.
The dark gray upholstery is in excellent condition. We aren't sure when it was done, but it is holding up very well. No major signs of wear and tear on the interior and it's an attention getter wherever it goes.
In the dashboard you will find a wood grained background for the custom speedometer and VDO gauges. The glove box has been done in wood grain to match.
There is Vintage"A/C" in the truck . An AM/FM radio is displayed underneath the bench seat and a kill switch is located on the floor.
You can crack open the windshield to give you plenty of ventilation, and it is really comfortable to be behind this custom steering wheel.
There are Goodyear tires all around with chrome wheels with dog dish hub caps giving this good looking truck a classic look.
Under the hood there is a 350 Chevy short block. THe engine compartment is dressed up with a chrome alternator and chrome Moroso valve covers.
The Chevy stops with the aid of power disc brakes up front and drums in the rear.
The undercarriage is in very good condition, it shows some parts with normal wear and tear from over the years. The fuel tank appears to be fairly new.
The mufflers look and sound good, but the exhaust pipes have some holes and need replacing.

The formula of Top Gear Korea is seemingly about the same as it is everywhere else in the world, including the flagship British original: involve interesting cars in fantastical situations with charismatic hosts. That prescription has proved to be pretty reliable over the years, and has lead to some truly memorable and exciting pieces of television. Something like that was undoubtedly what the Korean producers were after when they lined up this segment - a drag race between a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and an AH1 Cobra military helicopter. The planners almost certainly did not expect the filming of the segment to go quite as wrong as it actually did, with the helicopter actually crashing into the dirt after the "drag race" had been completed. Thankfully, we're told that no one was seriously injured in the crash, but the footage, in the video below, is pretty damn chilling to watch, nevertheless.

The current wait time for a new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is well, not short. With word of a strike at the Bowling Green, KY factory responsible for seventh-generation sports car, though, that wait time could end up growing substantially. Now, a strike is still a ways off. UAW Local 2164, which represents the 800 workers responsible for screwing the Corvette together, is set to vote on authorizing a strike today, but even if the employees give the action a go, it's far from a sure thing. According to The Tennessean, both regional and national union officials would need to put their stamp of approval on strike action. "The membership has to vote to strike, but it's just a step in the process," said Gary Casteel, the UAW's Region 8 director and one of the people that would need to authorize a strike action. Casteel told The Tennessean, "It's purely a local situation, though. They are having some issues with the local management."

Our apologies to those who've seen this before, but for the rest of the class, how awesome are these pictures of the Vert-A-Pac shipping system General Motors came up with to ship the Chevrolet Vega back in the 1970s? Developed along with Southern Pacific Railroad, GM was able to double the amount of Vega models it could ship by packing them into the unique storage cars vertically. At the time, rail cars could fit 15 vehicles each, but Chevrolet was able to lower shipping costs by making it possible to ship 30 Vegas per rail car, in turn allowing the price of the Vega to remain as low as possible. Each rail car had 30 doors that would fold down so that a Vega could be strapped on, and then a forklift would come along and lift the door into place. All the cars were positioned nose down, and since they were shipped with all of their required fluids, certain aspects had to be designed specifically for this type of shipping, including an oil baffle in the engine, a special battery and even a repositioned windshield washer reservoir. See for yourself in our image gallery above.
