for sale is a 1948 Chevrolet 1 ton truck. this truck has been in the family for over 20 years and has been garaged for many of them. I started to restore it about 25 years aho and spayed it with laquer paint which is aging now. the truck had something laid on the hood and one fender in which made the paint peel. I have sanded it down there and spayed some primer on it. it is in need of a lot of tlc. I have bought some new tail lights tail gate hinges and ect which are included. the wood in the bed will need replaced but is there. the floor in the cab has been replaced and is in good condition. the engine has been overhauled and is in good condition. and has about 5000 miles. I recently rebuilt the carb with a kit so it will fire up and runs good and doesnt smoke, and hold good oil pressure (for a 216 chevrolet engine) it will need brake work and tires to make it safe to drive. the seat is there but is in bad condition. and the side panels or step panels are included but will need alot of work to make them usable again. if it sells I will include a new rebuilt battery to go with it, basicly saying the truck is what it is. it was originally a flat bed but has had an 8 foot bed put on it if you have any questions please ask. Also I have bought all the dash trim to go with it and is included. true milage is unknown ebay made me put a number in there and IS NOT CORRECT. we are building a new house so this truck needs to find a new home. thanks for looking Jim  870 577 1113

Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works

Fri, 22 Mar 2013

When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.

GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories

Wed, 06 Feb 2013

As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.

Watch the live reveal of the 2014 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra [UPDATE]

Thu, 13 Dec 2012

UPDATE: The trucks have been revealed. Click here for all of the official details.
As promised, Chevrolet and GMC are offering a live webcast of the world premiere for the all-new 2014 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500. After being teased with spy shots and blurry images like the one above for ages, now is the time to see the trucks in the metal, for real (well, as 'real' as it gets on a webcast, at any rate).
Shift your eyes down just below to see the reveal as it happens, starting at 9:30 AM EST. We anticipate having loads of images full technical information to share after the webcast, too, so truck aficionados should stay tuned. We'll also be bringing you live images of both trucks too, when we see them on the show floor at next month's Detroit Auto Show.
