Selling for a family member. Will do my best to describe. The truck was partially restored several years ago. Body is in overall very good condition. Paint is fading from barn storage. This is better than a typical barn find but has been stored in a barn for a long time.
The Good: Truck was originally red, paint evident under the black on inside fenders and along bottom edge of hood, Underside of truck is beautiful, Truck drives down the road and runs very good, had on highway at 55 mph, Solid floors and inside doors, Decent interior, Clean overall, Gauges all work, brakes work effectively with no major pulling to one side or the other, steering is good for it's age, acceleration is good for the age, headlights, fog lights, brake lights all work, starts easily in spite of needing a carb cleaning, sat for over a year and started right up with no extra help, strong battery, running boards solid, stake bed solid just needs a little paint, ask questions I will do my best to describe!
The Bad: Chatters under low idle when letting out clutch, Tires are weather checked but do hold air will need to be replaced for safe driving, Has had some repair to body but do not know how much can only see what the paint shows and it shows that some work has been done, needs paint the paint shows to be an older paint job and is showing the works of mother nature in a barn, front section of headliner needs some minor repair, chrome is in average condition, turn signals do not work, windshield wiper not working. Ask questions, I will do my best to describe!
Thanks for checking this truck out, for the money it is a great start for a restoration project, or drive it like it is and still have a blast! Truck is for sale locally and reserve the right to end auction early. Truck is available for inspection any time during the auction.

2014 Chevrolet Silverado tows in new configurator, microsite
Mon, 21 Jan 2013Judging by your continued enthusiastic response to configurator notices, dear reader, you enjoy speccing out new cars as much as we do. Better still, there tends to be even more ways to personalize, configure and bloat theoretical MSRPs on full-size trucks as there are with more ordinary passenger cars. In addition to trim level, engine and transmission choices, truck buyers usually have to specify items like cab configuration, bed length, number of driven axles, tow packages, gear ratios and all sorts of bits and bobs.
That's why we're pleased to see the DIY specification utility for the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado come alive so soon after this week's Detroit Auto Show debut. While the configurator lacks pricing (General Motors hasn't announced numbers yet) and full options, you can still spec out your half-ton rig, and even print it out or email it to your friends. Beyond the configurator, the new model-specific site is pretty cool, too, with various videos and closer looks at the truck's new features.
The new Chevrolet pickup range won't be on dealer lots until sometime this summer, so whether you're a building contractor, an avid sportsman or just a guy or gal that loves full-size trucks, you might want to check out the link below to keep your appetite whetted. If you're more of a Sierra fan, well, it looks like you're going to have to wait a while - GMC hasn't updated its site yet.
Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too
Fri, 07 Dec 2012We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.
Use this PowerPoint when convincing your spouse to let you buy a Corvette
Thu, 14 Feb 2013When you are not the one in charge of the purse strings, creativity is a must when trying to get the string-holder to bankroll that next shiny object you just can't live without.
When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.
