1950 Chevy 3100 Series Short Bed Pickup
                                                                         52,000 original Miles!!
Selling my awesome 1950 5 Window pickup. Truck is a real 3100 series half ton with the rare and desirable 5-Windows. These trucks are harder and harder to find in this condition with 5 windows. The truck is pretty much all original with no alterations, cutting, or bondo etc. Was a 1 owner that was well taken care of and maintained. This is pretty much a rust free vehicle that is very solid. Looks like a couple paint jobs over the years but no rust through spots anywhere, just surface underneath, yet still solid and some on the running boards,(which have replacements), and a couple nicks etc., that you would expect. I would call it a "5 Footer".

Truck is still equipped with it's original motor (216-hp),and drive train, which operate flawlessly, and the exhaust is new stainless from motor, all the way back. Shocks were also replaced. Brakes were checked and are fine. Replaced the water pump and rebuilt the generator as well as putting some tires on. Included with the truck will be a brand new set of running boards and a bed kit with stainless strips, still in boxes. (close to 2K in parts). Presently, there is a metal plate in the bed that works fine for now.

This truck is super solid, virtually rust free and un-touched. Your call whether to keep it so original or hot rod it. You will not find a better one in this part of the country and actually if it was a southern or western truck you would not know, due to the lack of rust. Floors are solid. Only thing I can see changed was the foot starter was replaced with a much more user friendly ignition switch on the dash. Naturally, a vehicle this old is sold as is with no warranty.

Please note that the great State of CT does not issue tiles for vehicles this old, as is the case with most states. You will receive a CT Bill of Sale and a copy of the present registration. Please check with your DMV before bidding. Will sell to and ship anywhere but buyer is responsible for payment. I will gladly help load etc., but do not want to be held up with international shippers. (I checked "clear" for title, because you are forced to list one of eBay's categories, since there is no option for "none".) Will accept Pay Pal for deposit but if you want to pay for the truck using Pay Pal, I need to pass their fees unto you as I can not afford to absorb them, sorry. Vehicle is listed for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time should it sell.

If you have less than 5 positive feedbacks, you need to make contact prior to bidding or I will cancel the bid, as I have had too many less than honorable jerks ruining auctions, sorry.

I will answer all questions and if you want a phone conversation shoot me a phone number. Good Luck bidding on this great old Truck!!

I do have a full set of 4 Tires, rims, trim rings and small bow tie caps for sale separately that have less than 500 miles on them. Depending on where the auction ends, I might include them. They are 16" I bought from a guy with a 1951 but did not use them.

On Jul-26-14 at 07:40:30 PDT, seller added the following information:

I also have 2 other trucks I will probably be selling also, due to some health related expenses, if there is interest, I can give more details and pictures and possibly list them, or sell outright;

1967 C-10 Chevy-pretty much rust free, 87 year old 1 owner in unreal condition with 62,000 miles. Probably looking for around 9k
1953 Chevy 5 window flatbed from CA with zero rust. Runs excellent, needs some flat glass and interior parts, (Headliner and side panels), probably looking for around 7K

2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Convertible offers a few more views before reveal

Mon, 04 Mar 2013

Over the weekend, Chevrolet released its first images of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Now, ahead of the droptop's official introduction tomorrow at the Geneva Motor Show, the automaker has given us a few more shots of the softop C7 showing off the car's rump albeit from a high, strategically positioned angle.
From this angle, it's hard to get a sense for how long and flat the decklid really is, but we can easily see that, like the rest of the C7's design, the new convertible's decklid and tonneau cover are far more detailed than the current car. We also get a better look at the rear haunches sans brake vents, which have apparently been moved to underneath the car in order to accommodate the top's hard cover.
As for the overall styling of the C7 convertible, with the top erected, we get some idea of what a coupe design (as opposed to the Stingray's fastback shape) would look like on this car. The C5 Corvette most recently had a coupe model that did away with the large glass hatchback, and we recently reported on a low-cost "coupe" model potentially being added to the C7's repertoire.

Fewer than 1 in 3 Chevy dealers earn right to initially sell C7 Corvette

Mon, 01 Apr 2013

Looking to make the launch of the 2014 Corvette Stingray as efficient as possible, Chevrolet will be limiting the numbers of its dealers that can sell the all-new coupe and convertible. According to Automotive News, sales of the C7 Corvette will initially be limited to less than a third of Chevy's total dealership network when the 'Vette goes on sale this summer.
Only 900 dealers out of more than 3,000 locations nationwide will be allowed to sell the new Corvette at first, and the reason for this is so that there are no shortages at dealers that can actually get the cars sold. The article says that the 900 dealerships chosen represented 80 percent of total Corvette sales in 2012.
Some of the requirements dealers had to make to get initial allocation of Stingray sales include having sold at least four Corvettes in 2012 and having a Corvette Stingray specialist who will be required to have gone through a training session costing more than $2,000 per attendee. Once demand for the 2014 Corvette Stingray begins to subside - approximately six to nine months after it goes on sale - then allocation could open up to more dealers, but the report indicates this could happen following the 2014 model year.

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
