Thank you for looking at my auction! Up for sale is a well built 1953 Chevrolet 5 Window Pickup. The truck was built by our shop in Marion, Oh called Poor Boys Resto. You can check us out on facebook. We are a local shop who builds hot rods and customs, does full restorations, and Custom race car work. We have an owned an operated Top Sportsman drag racing team, and bring to the table 40 years of combined experience between my father and I. This truck was a project that we built to keep as our own shop truck. Looking to put more money into our car as the season draws mid-way. So the truck is up for Sale As-is. The best components and the utmost attention to detail were mandatory on this vehicle. The details on the build are below. Any questions please do not hesitate to call me at 740-262-3732

Engine- 5.3l Ls, New wires, plugs, wire heat boots, starter, and alternator. Engine and alternator was mounted using Dirty Dingo slider mounts and the Alt only set up. 60,000 MILES!!!

Trans- 4l60E, 30" Lokar Trans mounted shifter.

Drive TrainNew balanced custom driveshaft with new yoke and U-Joints built by Driveline 1 out of Columbus, OH. 75' Camaro GM 10 bolt 8.5 Rear end, Non-Posi, Drum Brakes.

Chassis- Factory chassis retained. Mustang II front suspension out of a mid 70's mustang. Front big disc brake kit. 11.5" drilled and slotted rotors with GM metric calipers.  Chassis was POR-15 painted. Boxed in the front where the IFS was installed. Brake lines are all stainless steel other than the tough bends and those are the NiCopp line. New chassis mounted power brake booster and master cylinder. Has a MANUAL mustang II rack. New Borgeson joints and stainless steel shaft were used as connections. Jegs 20 circuit wiring harness powers the chassis and inner cab. All lights are functional and new.
Truck Sits where it does because I like to drive things and not avoid railroad tracks or high bumps.  It lays running boards out in the grass and sits about 2" off the ground otherwise. Truck was built for functionality not to be a trailer queen. If that's the route you want to go you can adjust the front bag cups, and i will include a rear step notch kit, made for this frame from Gambino customs bought here on ebay.

Exhaust
- Hooker Block Hugger Headers, 2.25 single Custom built exhaust with a Flowmaster 40 Series muffler.

Air-Ride- The Air-Ride System is 100% RideTech other than the rear bags and mounts. Installed the RideTech front mustang II bag brackets, bags, and shock kit. Has the upgraded kit that comes with a larger rear tank, 2 compressors, and the red billet valve assembly which is mounted behind the seat. The rear set up is Slam Specialties 7" bags for a much nicer ride, paired up with Thor Brothers brackets.

Fuel System- Tanks Inc fuel injection tank. Bought the pump that is capable of handling 600hp. (We were going to run turbos on it.) The fuel System is 100% 6an braided line. Has the Corvette regulator system which is the return/filter/regulator all in one little tube.

InteriorThe dash was painted black with the polished glove box and radio cover. Factory re-covered and Fully re-built seat. All factory trim is in place and functional. It still needs carpeted, gauges, and the door glass put in. *You must purchase glass* Used the truck on nice days so never worried about it. Has a new chrome tilt column, a a new grant steering wheel. The turn signal and hazards are built into the column. Has factory door panels that i have not installed. Truck comes with another set of door that have all door and inner workings in it. You will need DOOR GLASS. All other glass in the truck was replaced with new seals.

Exterior- The truck was painted about 20 years and shows it with the beautiful patina it has. Has some bondo in the lower rear fenders, and front lower front fenders. That tail gate has quite a bit of bondo too. Not because of rust but i think because they were trying to smooth the lines out. The cab was purchased from kansas and has a few dents but ABSOLUTELY ZERO RUST. Bought a fulton visor to go along with it. Bed is not finished in the pictures but will be by auction end. Its getting red-oak to enclose the tank and Air-ride. There is absolutely zero room to work with using the factory chassis so instead of raising the bed floor 6-8 inches like an s-10 build i placed the tank near the cab for easy fill-ups and you will still have 4 1/2 foot of whole depth bed to use for parts, chairs, coolers, and etc.. You will have 8 bolts to take out for any air-ride service or fuel system problems. *Keeping it functional* especially for those without a lift.

Wheels- Wheels are Boss 338 18x8 front and 18x9.5 rear. These are wrapped in new Nitto Neo Gen tires. Rears have a nice dish to them and give it that hot rod look.

I would do some trading on a 1967-1969 Camaro, or a 1967-1973 firebird. Thanks!

Chevy rolls out Silverado HD High Country

Wed, 09 Apr 2014

It's been a good week for heavy-duty truck buyers. First, Ram revealed the Black Package for its HD trucks, then it rolled out its new Power Wagon, and now Chevy's getting in on the action with its Silverado High Country HD. Okay, so it may not pack quite the attitude of Ram's latest 2500-series offerings, but the High Country HD will come as a welcome addition to the Chevy Trucks range to those looking to pull their horse, boat or other trailer without skimping on creature comforts.
Rolled out a little under a year ago, the High Country trim is Chevy's answer to the likes of the GMC Denali, Ford King Ranch and Ram Longhorn. It has until now only been offered on the light duty, 1500-series Silverado, but now extends to the 2500 and 3500-series HD models, as well.
So what sets a High Country pickup apart from lesser Chevy trucks? You'll be able to pick it out based on its chrome horizontal grille, body-color bumpers, 6-inch tubular side steps, 20-inch chrome wheels (18-inch on the 3500 and 17-inch on the dualie) and, of course, plenty of special badging. But it's inside where the High Country makes its mark, with a cabin decked out in saddle brown perforated leather, seats that are both heated and cooled, eight-inch touchscreen with full MyLink suite, Bose audio and park assist functions front and rear to keep those color-keyed bumpers looking fresh. (Though Chevy hasn't yet showed us the interior of the HD model, it'll presumably look mostly the same as the cab in the 1500 High Country in the gallery below.)

More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.
