Chevrolet Pickup

This Lowrider is a great pickup. When cruzing it drives very straight down the road.  The nice thing is you can drive it now everyday as it is or drive it while you complete the restoration if you choose to do more.

Rear has air shocks, could use front shocks.

Nova rearend.

Straight axle in front but we changed hubs so we could have all 5-lug wheels.

New brakes in rear.  New master cylinder.  For manual brakes it stops good.

Motor ID #'s say it is a 307, with heads same specs as fuelies.

Aluminum manifold with 650 holly thats been rebuilt by professional.

Electronic ignition.

All new rotor, module , coil, plugs and wires.

Radiator was all repaired and cleaned by a radiator shop.

Turbo 350 transmission with B&M floor shifter.

New fuel tank and sending unit.

All glass intact.  Some bubbling.  Windshield has some scratching.

Doors need weatherstripping and some adjustment.

All lights work, new blinkers & most wires replaced. Windshield wipers work (2-speed).

Heater fan works but needs new heater coor installed .  Fan has 1 speed.

Toggle switch for heater.

Dash is not cut up and there is an original radio (no opperational).

New rebuilt and uphostered seat from the original core done by professional.

No floor mat or carpet.

Beautiful 6' Bed with new oak,  trimmed with stainless strips.

Some resoration done on Body in the 1980's but could use some minor work.  Has some minor rust and dents.  (Example: Rust on bottom side of tailgate.)

Not so good Bondo work in area above viser. My plan was to make a custom overhead console headliner if I kept it.

Tires- front 195-70R-14 (approx 50%)  Rear 235-60R-14 (approx 50%) but weather checked.  Wheels came from a Nova GT I think (see Pics)

Actual mileage unknown.

Who sold the most heavy-duty pickups in 2012? PickupTrucks.com investigates

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

Domestic manufacturers enjoyed a good year for heavy-duty pickup sales in 2012. PickupTrucks.com has taken a close look at exactly how those sales broke down between each manufacturer and between three-quarter and one-ton pickups. Ford sold some 67,786 F-250 Super Duty models last year with the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD falling just behind at 56,359 units. The Ram 2500 HD came in third at 41,918, while the GMC Sierra 2500 HD earned itself fourth place with 27,616 deliveries. While Ford held onto the top spot in the one-ton market, Ram easily nailed down second place by selling more 3500 HD models last year than General Motors sold Silverado 3500 HD and Sierra 3500 HD trucks combined.
So, did GM manage to sell more trucks than Ford with its two brands? Very nearly. Ford sold a total of 119,338 heavy-duty pickups to GM's 111,555. Ram, meanwhile, moved a distant 77,583. But perhaps more interesting is the diesel take rate in this segment. PickupTrucks.com says 80 percent of all domestic one-ton trucks roll from the dealer lot with a turbo-diesel under the hood. Head over to the site for a closer look at the breakdown.

Joe Flacco wins C7 Corvette along with MVP honors

Mon, 04 Feb 2013

As part of a longstanding tradition, the MVP of Super Bowl XLVII, Joe Flacco, quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, was given a new car directly after the game and trophy celebrations. For 2013, that car is a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, and it was presented to Flacco by Rick Flick of Banner Chevrolet, a dealership in New Orleans that was wiped out by Hurricane Katrina in 2005 before returning to prominence as the only Chevy dealer in Orleans Parish.
Last year, Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning took home a 2012 Corvette GS Centennial Edition. Manning also won in 2008, when he selected a Cadillac Escalade Hybrid as his reward. In 2011, quarterback Aaron Rodgers accepted the keys to a Camaro convertible.
Though we're most definitely an auto-obsessed group, we did watch the Big Game along with nearly everyone else in America. And we've gotta say, as if winning the Super Bowl and receiving the Tiffany-designed Pete Rozelle Trophy wasn't enough for the multi-millionaire MVP athletes, a brand-new C7 seems like an awfully generous prize. Officially Official: Chevrolet replaces Daewoo name in Korea

Chevrolet Camaro in Korea - Click above for high-resolution image

There once was a time when Daewoo was one of the biggest companies in South Korea. It was larger than both LG and Samsung, and second only to Hyundai. But these days the name is all but gone.
