1999 S-10 short bed truck, very nice truck, GREAT gas mileage

I am selling my S-10, I am buying a new truck, and won't need it anymore. It is a short-bed, very nice shape. It is a 4 cylinder 2.2, automatic, gets 30-32 m.p.g., It only has 109K miles, it is very dependable. The interior is a light blue velour any is very immaculate condition. It is a 9 out of a 10. I put the SS emblems on it just to give it a neat sporty look, it is not an SS, but the red emblems look very good on the white paint. We painted the grill and bumper to match the truck, so it looks more sporty also, and the nicest thing that topped it off was the Chrome 17" IROC-Z wheels (Hard to find) we put on it, and with Michelin tires. Installed a NEW bed liner, and haven't put anything in the bed since, so it is still new looking. All glass is great. It has delay wipers, A.M/FM. cassette, COLD air, and HOT heat. Runs out very good, and gas mileage is the trick, very good. Would make a very nice truck to drive around or give to a teenager to drive for it's dependability and sporty look. It is very clean under the hood, and the light under the hood still works. This truck has been well taken care of, for the age and the miles. Stays inside garage. You can drive this truck anywhere you like, and rides, drives, handles very good. All lights and dash lights, gauges work like they should. Doors and tailgate opens and closes very good also. Has original jack still behind seat. Under Neath the truck is clean also. Tennessee truck. Any questions you may email me, and I will check frequently. I don't want to put a buy it now, cause some people hit it, and never respond back, then you get charged for the ad, and have to repost again. I am 30 miles from, Knoxville, Tennessee. Thanks for looking.

"Turbo" Chevrolet Camaro is a 700-HP fantasy car come to life [w/video]

Thu, 07 Feb 2013

For a concept car built to promote an animated movie about a snail that wants to go racing, this thing ain't half bad. The outsized monster you see before you started life as a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and then went through a big-time Hollywood makeover before being positioned on the Chevrolet stand here in Chicago.
This 2013 "Turbo" Camaro Coupe is getting the promotion machine ratcheted up for a new DreamWorks tale by the name of, you guessed it, Turbo. Coming this summer, the movie will follow one snail's quest to become a race driver worthy of making the cut at the Indy 500. Like many DreamWorks vehicles before it, we're guessing that the petrolhead snail will star in a movie that adults (especially racing fans) with have no trouble watching with their kids. Check out the trailer below to see if you agree.
As for the car, we're told that it is "instrumental" in transforming Turbo from snail into racer. Helping the beastly pony car in this mighty task, is an ankle-cracking front splitter matched by a ungodly huge rear wing out back, a COPO hood and a supercharged (yes, supercharged) V8 engine making more than 700 horsepower. 24-inch wheels all the way around - 10-inches wide in front and 15-inches wide in back - should allow the "Turbo" Camaro to hook up with ease, as well.

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.

Watch this time-lapse build of the Chevy SS for NASCAR

Fri, 08 Feb 2013

There's only about a week left until we get our first look at the production version of the 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan, but Chevrolet NASCAR teams have been looking at the race version of the car all winter. Autoweek has posted a really neat time-lapse video showing just a portion of what it takes to build one of NASCAR's new Gen6 stock cars.
Though the video is quite brief, it does show almost the entire build process starting with just the car's nose, and it gives us a good look at how integral the template is to the final product. As a bonus, Hendrick Motorsports also provided some videos showing two of its teams performing pit stop tests over the winter. The second video shows some of the more detailed aspects of the racecar's rear end, including the stock-looking trunk cutout and a newly mandated rear bumper extension that will be used on super speedways like Daytona and Talladega.
To see what Team Chevy has been up to all off-season, check out all three videos posted after the jump.
