Selling my 2003 Silverado 1500HD LS 4x4 Crew Cab. Has 18" wheels, power locks, windows, cruise, keyless entry, heat and air works great. It does have high mileage, 290 something, but the motor, transmission, transfer case, have been built around 233,xxx mark. Starts right up drives nice, two new catalytic converters about 1 year ago. You can just get in and drive it. Everything works, The service 4wd read out on cluster comes on and off. This is very normal thing for Chevy. To fix, it will need a new 4x4 accumulator motor on the transfer case, it's not the motor that's bad it's the sensor, but you need to buy as whole. I haven't bought one. All I have to do, is turn the key off and then back on, then I can select what ever 4x4 I want on. I can have it fixed if you want to buy the motor, there about 200.00 Add 280.00 to the final price and I will have it fixed. The power steering pump is a little noise not real bad, just listing everything I can think of. This is a great deal for someone, nice 2003 Crew Cab HD truck. It doesn't need a thing other then the accumulator. Doesn't use any oil in 3000 mile oil change. The truck runs great, nice and quiet. Look at my feedback, I always describe to the best of my knowledge.
It's sold-as where-is with no refunds.
Must be paid for in cash with in 7 days from end of auction.
If you have less then 5 feedback you will need to contact me first or I will remove your bid. I want this to be a fair auction.
I do reserve the right to end auction, it's for sale locally. Happy Bidding!

GM claims it's first to sell million 30+ mpg vehicles

Fri, 04 Jan 2013

As we continue to put together all the data for the year-end edition of By The Numbers, General Motors has announced that it sold more than a million vehicles in the US last year that achieved at least 30 miles per gallon on the highway. More impressively, GM managed this feat using multiple strategies including small vehicle size, turbocharged engines and hybrid or plug-in technologies across four brands (Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC) accounting for 13 separate models. This number will grow even more in 2013 thanks to cars like the all-electric Spark, the diesel Cruze, the range-extended Cadillac ELR and the Buick Encore compact CUV.
GM's small car sales were up 39 percent last year helping to attain this million-sales mark for 30-mpg models, and almost 40 percent of all GM sales consisted of cars with fuel-efficient I4 engines. In regards to more advanced means of improving fuel economy, GM says that it plans on having 500,000 vehicles with "some form of electrification" on the road by 2017.

Chevrolet Malibu gets across-the-board price cuts, hopes to dig out of slump

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

To say that things aren't going well for the newly redesigned 2013 Chevrolet Malibu is a pretty sizable understatement. Reports have been swirling about the Malibu getting an emergency design refresh, less than a year after its introduction, as well as having its production at the Fairfax Assembly Plant halted twice already this year for excessive inventory. Now, Motor Trend is reporting that the midsize sedan will be receiving price drops across the board ranging from $300 on a number of models up to $770 on the 1LT trim; offsetting some of MSRP drop, though, the destination charge has increased from $760 to $810.
Without destination, the entry-level Malibu LS now starts at $21,995, which is still about $300 more than a Honda Accord and about $300 less than the segment's top-selling Toyota Camry. This new pricing also drops the price of the Eco, 2LT and 3LT trims by $300. The LTZ trim has dropped by $415, meaning that the Malibu's top dog now starts at just under $30,000, excluding destination.
Here are the new starting prices for all eight of the Malibu trim levels compared to the previous prices for the 2013 model year (including destination):

Vert-A-Pac train cars kept your Chevy Vega's price in check

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

Our apologies to those who've seen this before, but for the rest of the class, how awesome are these pictures of the Vert-A-Pac shipping system General Motors came up with to ship the Chevrolet Vega back in the 1970s? Developed along with Southern Pacific Railroad, GM was able to double the amount of Vega models it could ship by packing them into the unique storage cars vertically.
At the time, rail cars could fit 15 vehicles each, but Chevrolet was able to lower shipping costs by making it possible to ship 30 Vegas per rail car, in turn allowing the price of the Vega to remain as low as possible. Each rail car had 30 doors that would fold down so that a Vega could be strapped on, and then a forklift would come along and lift the door into place. All the cars were positioned nose down, and since they were shipped with all of their required fluids, certain aspects had to be designed specifically for this type of shipping, including an oil baffle in the engine, a special battery and even a repositioned windshield washer reservoir. See for yourself in our image gallery above.
