This is a NO RESERVE auction so bid with confidence, High Bidder wins.  You are bidding on a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado Extended Cab 2500 HD LT with the 6.6L Diesel with the Allison Transmission.  It has a Clean Carfax and Clear Florida Title in hand.  Follow this link for Carfax.   2002 CHEVROLET SILVERADO (1GCHK29182E110336) . There is a stack of service records that are dated from 2005-2013 that are included.  Some newer items of note were batteries, wheel bearings, power steering pump, serpentine belt, and a transfer case.  The truck is loaded with all of the options including leather, alloys, full power, tubular entry steps, and a diamond plate tool box.  Along with the towing package, tinted windows, spray in bed liner, and rubber floor mats.  The exterior shows well with a good shine, I have the missing drivers rear fender flair.  The interior is in good condition for the year and mileage as scene in the photos.  The arm rests have the standard cracking.  I have owned several of these Duramax's so I know them pretty well.  The truck pulls like an Ox, the 4WD drive works perfect as well as Tow/Haul and it shifts perfectly through the gears.  I run Fuel treatment as these have a tendency to load up if they have sat any time.  The engine fires right up, no idle surge or funny vibrations at speed.  The front tires are good, the backs will need to be replaced sooner than later.  The engine bay is clean as it should be. No leaks of any kind with the drive fluids though the washer fluid tank can not be filled completely full or it weeps.  I get compliments on this truck all the time because it does shows well.  Email me with questions or set up an appointment to see it right on FTL Beach.  THe deposit is through Paypal and the balance is Cash Only (too many bad cashiers checks out there).  Local Pick Up only.  Email me any questions or call me at 561-602-5340.

Why does the Corvette Stingray have so many vents? Here's why

Sun, 27 Jan 2013

Just looking at the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, it's not hard to see that the car's design was created with aerodynamics at the forefront, but Chevrolet designers point out exactly what went into designing the iconic coupe in a pair of recently released videos. The videos show the Corvette going through early design phases, including clay models and wind tunnel tests, as well as talking to the car's chief engineer, Tadge Juechter.
Both videos help explain various aspects of the C7 Corvette, but it's the aero tuning of the car that is most interesting. This includes extra attention paid to the lower air dam and vented hood to help reduce drag and lift, while the rear quarter inlets are for differential and transmission cooling. Juechter said that some of these aero-tuned elements were inspired from GM's involvement in racing.
If you have about five minutes and you can't get enough information about the new 'Vette, then check out the videos posted below.

Chevrolet donates 300 vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Super Storm Sandy took out a lot of automobiles in its path of destruction through the Northeast last October. The number surpassed 250,000 at last count, and a few of those were owned by Chevrolet - cars either sitting on dealership lots or waiting at port to be shipped off. Rendered unsellable by the water damage inflicted by Sandy, these vehicles were facing the crusher. But Chevy didn't send them there.
Instead, Chevy had a better idea: It will be donating 300 of these vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders at Guardian Centers in Perry, GA. Chevy is the official automotive partner of Guardian Centers, which is an 830-acre facility that trains first responders in disaster preparedness. Junked cars are practically a consumable commodity there, where a full-size cityscape simulator gives trainees an entire urban center in which to train for all sorts of rescue operations and disaster scenarios.
Chevy says its particular vehicles will be used "in conjunction with role players for wide area searches, traffic congestion in emergency situations, counter terrorism, public order and mass casualty exercises." While grim scenarios all, we're certainly glad there are people out there preparing for the unexpected. While a zombie apocalypse isn't officially on the list of potential disasters to prepare for, when the virus hits, we'll be hot-footing it to Perry, GA to hang with these guys and gals.

Race Recap: 2013 Twelve Hours of Sebring, cakewalk up front, grindfest out back [w/spoilers]

Tue, 19 Mar 2013

This year's 12 Hours of Sebring wasn't exactly a foregone conclusion because we're still talking about racing, and anything can happen when the speeds are as high as the adrenaline and the desire. But we're still talking about Audi bringing it's two top-spec racers - and its huge budget and its nearly neurotic attention to detail - to a race that it uses as a test bed for The 24 Hours of Le Mans and as a way to open the endurance racing season with a victory.
Besides, 12 hours is a long time, especially at Sebring, and things didn't go all Audi's way. On top of that, although it was a pretty quiet race, behind the Audis things got even grimier, with plenty of battles, plenty of mechanical issues, and the new BMW Z4 GTE and Viper GTS-R being race tested. Oh, and that brand new chromed-out DeltaWing...
