2003 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Lt Crew Cab Pickup 4-door 6.6l Duramax 1 Owner 4wd on 2040-cars
King, North Carolina, United States
Listed here is my 2003 Silverado LT 3500 with the mighty LB7 Duramax diesel and Allison 5 Speed automatic transmission. It has push button 4 Wheel Drive with all the LT options (see specific options above). I purchased new in 2003 and has been in my possession ever since then. Always garage kept and well maintained. Very low mileage with only 34336 and still runs as strong as it did when new. In my opinion, it's still new! The leather interior is still in great shape with only very minor wear on the driver's seat from getting in and out over the years. Please see pics and you will see that only very minor wear. I have installed rear air bags with the valve stems placed in the upper license plate screw holes (this makes for a clean setup). I also installed a Banks 6 Gun tuner with a dial mounted in the A-pillar gauge pod that can be adjusted on the fly. Also in the gauge pod are Banks exhaust temp and boost gauges. The truck also has the Banks big head waste gate installed with 4" exhaust from the downpipe back through the muffler to the rearend where it splits into 4" duals with 6" polished and rolled stainless tips! This has a great sound but still quiet when you want it to be. It has the AEM brute force cold air intake w/ reusable style air cleaner (just clean, re-oil and keep trucking). Also you will notice the 22.5" Alcoa semi wheels with Sumitomo tires. I also upgraded the shocks on all 4 corners as well as the steering arm shock. The truck has not been lifted, just the torsion bars adjusted at the front to accommodate the larger wheel/tire setup. This truck is in great shape and the only reason for selling is because I hardly ever drive it anymore. I used to pull an enclosed trailer for a drag car a few times a season and the occasional camping trip but hardly ever used. Definitely an "attention getter" everywhere I go and I always get lots of compliments! Thanks for taking a look at my listing, enjoy! * I updated the listing to add another picture of underbody, never been in salt or off road...except in the grass! :-)

Next Corvette ZR1 to get 700 horsepower?
Tue, 19 Feb 2013Word has it General Motors may offer as much as 700 horsepower in the C7 Corvette ZR1. Motor Trend reports the next Corvette Z06 will continue to rely on its naturally aspirated 7.0-liter V8 engine for thrust, but the lump will deliver substantially more power. How much more? MT says the engine could deliver up to 600 ponies. That's a jump of 95 horsepower over the current Z06, though no figures have been finalized as of yet. Right now, GM is reportedly waiting to see what sort of grunt it can glean from the next ZR1.
The automaker has already made it clear it will resurrect the LT5 name for the new supercharged V8, and if GM is already pulling 600 from the Z06, the big dog ZR1 would theoretically offer 700 horsepower. Either way, the range-topping Corvette will be suitably insulated from its less potent siblings. Stay tuned. We aren't likely to see the Z06 for at least a year, with the ZR1 trailing along at some point there after.
These cars are headed to the Great Crusher In The Sky
Fri, 24 Aug 2012It happens every year. We bid adieu to some cars and trucks that will be missed, and say good riddance to others wondering how they stayed around so long. Whether they're being killed off for slow sales or due to a new product coming along to replace them, the list of vehicles being discontinued after 2012 is surprisingly long and diverse.
CNN Money has compiled a list of departing vehicles, to which we've added a few more of our own. In the slow sales column, cars like the Lexus HS 250h, Mercedes-Benz R-Class and the full Maybach lineup appear, while the Ford Escape Hybrid, Mazda CX-7 and Hyundai Veracruz are all having their gaps filled with more modern and more fuel-efficient alternatives. Obvious exceptions to the rule include models that still sell in decent numbers like the Jeep Liberty and the Chrysler Town & Country (which will eventually be replaced by a crossover-like vehicle).

Expect greater differentiation in GM's next-generation SUVs
Thu, 03 Jan 2013General Motors says its next-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade models will offer shoppers improved interior differentiation. Car and Driver recently caught up with Chris Hilts, GM's creative manager of interior design, who said that the cabins will all feature unique instrument panels, consoles, center stacks and switchgear moving forward. Apparently GM is now aware that consumers may be bothered by the fact that today's $85,000 Escalade has effectively the same cabin as a $45,000 Tahoe. Hilts says SUV buyers want more refinement than their pickup purchasing counterparts - and those same buyers also want their SUVs to have more exterior differentiation between the company's Silverado and Sierra pickup lines. Shocking.
That all sounds good to us, but we've heard this song and dance before. GM made big waves about how different the new-for-2013 Silverado and Sierra would look from each other, but judging by what we've seen so far, GM's stylists are painting in shades rather than with the full spectrum.
