1972 Cheverolet Suburban 4x4 on 2040-cars
Calistoga, California, United States
I just bought this vehicle and I am not much of a 4 x 4 guy so you will have to email me with questions so I can investigate and get the answers for you. All I know is that this truck runs great and draws a Thone of attention everywhere it goes. I was told that it has a freshly rebuild 350 in it and if how it runs is to be the judge, I have no problem with believing that wholeheartedly. I bought this car as a carryall and put the second and third row of seats along with the seatbelts in it. The second row of seats fold down flat and the third row comes out just as a stock Escalade would. I also installed brand-new shocks all the way around and a new steering dampener Kit. I am not a lifted truck guy but in more of a slammed airbag type of guy but decided to give this a shot. Needless to say, it's just not me. Although I like driving the truck I went off and bought a 62 Ford station wagon on airbags for my family hauler. I don't need two vehicles of the sites on now the truck must go. I've had this truck for nearly 2 months now and feel comfortable enough to drive it to New York and back. This thing really drives great! Please feel free to call me with any questions you may have and I will be happy to answer them for you. Like I said, I don't know much about four-wheel-drives so we may have to walk through some things together in order to gather the information that you need. Robert 707-287-0376

Helicopter crashes on Top Gear Korea set while chasing Corvette ZR1
Mon, 11 Feb 2013The formula of Top Gear Korea is seemingly about the same as it is everywhere else in the world, including the flagship British original: involve interesting cars in fantastical situations with charismatic hosts. That prescription has proved to be pretty reliable over the years, and has lead to some truly memorable and exciting pieces of television.
Something like that was undoubtedly what the Korean producers were after when they lined up this segment - a drag race between a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and an AH1 Cobra military helicopter. The planners almost certainly did not expect the filming of the segment to go quite as wrong as it actually did, with the helicopter actually crashing into the dirt after the "drag race" had been completed. Thankfully, we're told that no one was seriously injured in the crash, but the footage, in the video below, is pretty damn chilling to watch, nevertheless.

GM 6.2L V8 claims most powerful light-duty truck engine title
Thu, 12 Sep 2013General Motors has officially captured the horsepower crown for mainstream pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter V8. The big mill, available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, comes to market with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, handily outdoing its two cross-town competitors, Ram (5.7-liter V8, 395 ponies and 407 lb-ft) and Ford (6.2-liter V8, 411 hp and 434 lb-ft).
The new GM 6.2 will take a bit of an investment, though. Those that want the extra thrust will need to go with either the LTZ or High Country trims from the Chevy, or the SLT and Denali trims from GMC, which are the two highest trim levels for the respective vehicles. Trim levels aside, if you're in the business of towing, GM has you covered. Optioned with the 6.2-liter V8 and the Max Trailering Package, owners will be able to pull 12,000 pounds, a hugely impressive figure.
We still aren't certain as to what sort of economy the new engine will get, but it'll probably be a bad bet for the fuel conscious. As for availability, expect to see the 6.2-liter trucks in showrooms later in the fall.
