1991 Diesel Chevrolet Like New Diesel Engine Suburban 1500 4wd on 2040-cars

Year:1991 Mileage:55000
Location:

Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania, United States

Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania, United States

We are the original owners of this diesel suburban which has been owned by the family for over 20 years. The old engine was very reliable for over 260,000 miles. The engine was replaced on 12/2006, and has only 55,000 on it. (Engine replaced with odometer reading 262,034; odometer now reads 317,703. Have paperwork to certify engine replacement). Mechanically, the yellow beast runs great! Nearly everything under the hood has been replaced in the last ten years (transmission, water pump, etc.).

Just this year the suburban did not pass inspection, due to body rust and a body bolt that rusted out. The body of the suburban is the issue (see photos). However, the suburban also needs a new new muffler and outer tie rod ends replaced in order to pass inspection. I'm not a mechanic, just a Suburban lover. If had the tools or time I would do the body work myself, and I'd have a solid suburban that will run for 200,000 miles or more at a fraction of the cost of a new one!  Or if you are looking for a new engine for your suburban, you can get a slightly used one and put the engine in the Suburban you already have for a much cheaper price than buying a new engine.

Some neat things about this vehicle: This suburban is a 9 seater! (We took the third row out for the photo of rear of the vehicle). It has has an after-market front seat that converted it to three seats, two with headrests, up front. The front row of seats was also replaced a few years back and are almost brand new. The interior upholstery is in very good condition. This suburban also has front and rear A/C, which need some work get running again. It also has cruise control, and a really neat rear tailgate that flips down.

Note on the Photos: I took pictures of all the significant rust on the vehicle so you can see it yourself (fenders, doors, wheel-wells, tailgate, and other rust patches on body of car). You are more than welcome to schedule a time with me to come look at it yourself if you'd like to check it out. The vehicle is being sold in "as is" condition. I do advise seeing a vehicle that's for sale, and considering inspecting it yourself or arranging having a third party do that for you.

"Turbo" Chevrolet Camaro is a 700-HP fantasy car come to life [w/video]

Thu, 07 Feb 2013

For a concept car built to promote an animated movie about a snail that wants to go racing, this thing ain't half bad. The outsized monster you see before you started life as a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and then went through a big-time Hollywood makeover before being positioned on the Chevrolet stand here in Chicago.
This 2013 "Turbo" Camaro Coupe is getting the promotion machine ratcheted up for a new DreamWorks tale by the name of, you guessed it, Turbo. Coming this summer, the movie will follow one snail's quest to become a race driver worthy of making the cut at the Indy 500. Like many DreamWorks vehicles before it, we're guessing that the petrolhead snail will star in a movie that adults (especially racing fans) with have no trouble watching with their kids. Check out the trailer below to see if you agree.
As for the car, we're told that it is "instrumental" in transforming Turbo from snail into racer. Helping the beastly pony car in this mighty task, is an ankle-cracking front splitter matched by a ungodly huge rear wing out back, a COPO hood and a supercharged (yes, supercharged) V8 engine making more than 700 horsepower. 24-inch wheels all the way around - 10-inches wide in front and 15-inches wide in back - should allow the "Turbo" Camaro to hook up with ease, as well.

GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value

Thu, 12 Jun 2014

Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.
