NO RESERVE...GOOD MILES...CLEAN...4x4...350ci V8
Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. Buying your next vehicle through a NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid. An administrative fee of $249 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a very clean 1996 Chevrolet Suburban LS 4x4. Suburbans are fantastic vehicles. I usually have at least one around. When you need to carry a lot of people or need to move a lot of stuff without having to worry about sun, win or rain...there is no substitute for a Suburban. Loads of SUV's have third row seats recently...but have you seen them? How can anyone comfortably fit back there? And with the third row up in most SUV's, you're left with absolutely no cargo room. You shouldn't have to choose between people OR stuff. I would rate the exterior of this Chevy Suburban to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you can see, this Suburban shows very well. It is finished in dark green and shines like glass. The worst I can say about the exterior is the paint repair on the nose of the hood. The fenders, rockers and doors all look great which is hard to find on an older Suburban. The chrome bumpers and trim look great. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The alloy wheels look good and are wrapped in a nice set of rubber with decent tread all around. Please take your time and look at each photo and read the entire description. I would rate the interior of this Suburban to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. The door panels are clean and tight. The carpets show well and are thick/full looking throughout the interior. The cloth seats show very well and are comfortable. The cargo area is accessed via to barn doors at the back which are preferred for easy loading and unloading. The stereo is original and sounds good. The climate control system appears to be working properly. There is also rear heat and a/c to keep the entire cabin comfortable. The air conditioner will need to be charged or serviced as it does not blow cold air. The power windows and locks work properly. Nothing really bad to report...just some usual old car stuff. I gave a good shampoo to the carpets and seats, purchase car mats for front and rear and hand waxed the whole exterior. Changed the oil, filter and air filter. Replaced 4WD electronic module ($400.00) Mechanically, this Suburban appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 5.7L V8 engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I did not see any leaks and the engine does not smoke. The suspension feels nice and tight. The steering feels neutral and responsive. The brakes stop this big SUV with no issues. Her road manners are excellent. The engine keeps perfect temperature and excellent oil pressure at all times. She makes good power and accelerates easily. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly with no issues. The push button 4WD system is tested and working properly. Out on the highway, she cruises nice with no complaints. If you've been looking for a clean Suburban, take a good look at this one. They're getting hard to find with good miles and in good condition. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.

Why does the Corvette Stingray have so many vents? Here's why
Sun, 27 Jan 2013Just looking at the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, it's not hard to see that the car's design was created with aerodynamics at the forefront, but Chevrolet designers point out exactly what went into designing the iconic coupe in a pair of recently released videos. The videos show the Corvette going through early design phases, including clay models and wind tunnel tests, as well as talking to the car's chief engineer, Tadge Juechter.
Both videos help explain various aspects of the C7 Corvette, but it's the aero tuning of the car that is most interesting. This includes extra attention paid to the lower air dam and vented hood to help reduce drag and lift, while the rear quarter inlets are for differential and transmission cooling. Juechter said that some of these aero-tuned elements were inspired from GM's involvement in racing.
If you have about five minutes and you can't get enough information about the new 'Vette, then check out the videos posted below.
UAW to vote on strike at Kentucky Corvette plant
Tue, 08 Apr 2014The current wait time for a new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is well, not short. With word of a strike at the Bowling Green, KY factory responsible for seventh-generation sports car, though, that wait time could end up growing substantially.
Now, a strike is still a ways off. UAW Local 2164, which represents the 800 workers responsible for screwing the Corvette together, is set to vote on authorizing a strike today, but even if the employees give the action a go, it's far from a sure thing. According to The Tennessean, both regional and national union officials would need to put their stamp of approval on strike action.
"The membership has to vote to strike, but it's just a step in the process," said Gary Casteel, the UAW's Region 8 director and one of the people that would need to authorize a strike action. Casteel told The Tennessean, "It's purely a local situation, though. They are having some issues with the local management."
GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value
Thu, 12 Jun 2014Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.
