Selling my 2001 Chevy suburban because I just bought a new truck. I am the second owner but my parents were the first. She has been well maintained her entire life and still has a lot in her. I have a rough country 2-inch lift kit that im going to include, just never had the time to install. Can install in about 4 hours if you have basic car skills. or have a shop do it for $300. Around 178000 miles on her.

The good:
-Engine and transmission in great shape. The tranny fluid is clean and smells as sweet as can be.
-Comes with a Westin Brushguard that has no rust. Recently replaced all bolts, washers and nuts with stainless steel hardwear.
-All Windows work great.
-Interior in fair shape, minor cracks on the leather of the driver seat but everything else is decent.
-Fresh Goodyear OffRoading tires, 90% Tread

The Bad:
-Needs a Anti-Lock Relay replaced. Took to my shop and they said safe use to but will have the anti break turn on at low speeds <5 MPH.
-A/C is slight leak but works for an entire summer on one charge.
-Some Rust damage on the passenger side rear lower panel, in picture. As well us under the passenger doors. (Could be fixed fairly easily because of the easy access to behind it.)
-Damage to driver side passenger door. About 3- four inch long streaks.

I have a clean title in my name in hand. Will accept cash or any type of check once it has cleared (Preferably certified).

and $500 though paypal as a deposit within 48 hours.

Let me know if you have any questions, want some more pictures or want to check her out.

Thanks much!!!

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.

C7 Corvette turbo with 1,000 horsepower promised from Hennessey

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

If you can't wait for the next-generation Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Hennessey says they will have you covered. The Texas-based company has announced it will offer a spate of upgrades for the 2014 Corvette ranging from a range of bolt-on options all the way up to a 1,000-horsepower, twin-turbo system. Buyers can start with a cold air intake, cat-back exhaust or stainless steel long-tube headers, but Hennessey says it will also offer up three stages of forced induction mayhem should those bits and baubles not provide enough thrust.
Those choices start with a supercharger system good for up to 700 hp, though Hennessey will gladly ditch the blower in favor of two turbos. Doing so will spin the crank to the tune of 800 horsepower all the way up to a certifiably ludicrous 1,000 ponies. There's no word on how much these tricks will cost you - or when they will be available, as we're guessing they haven't gotten their hands on the car yet - but you can head over to the Hennessey site to drop them a line if you're curious.

800k car names trademarked globally, suddenly alphanumerics seem reasonable

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

What's in a name? This cliched phrase probably gets tossed out at every marketing meeting that happens when a new car gets its nomenclature. We know the answer, though: everything. The name of a car has all the potential to make or break it with fickle customers that are more conscious than ever about what their purchases say about them.
That's giving headaches to marketing folks across the automotive industry. "It's tough. In 1985 there were about 75,000 names trademarked in the automotive space. Today there are 800,000," Chevrolet's head of marketing, Russ Clark, told Automotive News. Infiniti's president, Johan de Nysschen, echoed Clark's sentiment, saying, "The truth of the matter is, across the world, there is hardly a name or a letter that hasn't already been claimed by one car manufacturer or another. You can go through the alphabet - A, B, C and so forth - and you will quickly see that almost all available letters are taken."
What has that left automakers to do? Get creative. In the case of Infiniti, it made the controversial move to bring all of its cars' names into a new scheme, classifying them as Q#0 for cars and QX#0 for SUVs and crossovers. So the Infiniti G, which was available as the G25 and G37, is now the Q50. The FX37 and FX50 are now the QX70.
