1961 - Chrysler 300 Series on 2040-cars
Buckhannon, West Virginia, United States
I have for sale a 1961 Chrysler 300G with 413 motor with two four barrel Carter carburetors and Cross Ram intake. New overhaul on the motor and transmission. The car runs out great, and handles very well at 70 to 80mph on the interstate. I just had the car out on a seven hour road trip, and it drives great! The car has four new Coker radial tires, new battery, new brakes, super straight body, and the car was 95% rust free before new high end paint job. All chrome and stainless is in fair to very good condition. All power windows work well. Car needs new seat covers, door panels, and head liner to be a super nice car. All the lights work, and the factory tachometer works. I will require the winning bidder to pay a non-refundable 1,000.00 deposit through Pay Pal within forty-eight (48) hours of the auction end, and the balance is to be paid within seven (7) business days of the auction end. I will accept a bank cashiers check, bank to bank wire transfer, United States Postal money order, and of course cash for the balance of the purchase price. Please note that when paying with a bank cashiers check I will hold the 300G for seven (7) to ten (10) business days to make sure the check clears my bank account. The buyer is responsible for shipping and transportation. Please call me at 304-320-0920 if you have any questions. Partial trades may be considered. Please check out my feedback, and bid with confidence! Again, if you have any questions please contact me, and I'll get you the answers you're looking for!

Chrysler and Hyundai join Pepsi and Coke as top Super Bowl spenders [w/ video]
Thu, 23 Jan 2014Super Bowl XLVIII is barely a week away, and some of the early ads are already leaking out. It's timely then that The Street has released rankings of the top five Super Bowl advertisers since 2009, showing Chrysler and Hyundai/Kia taking two of the spots with $131.7 million in cumulative spending.
Since 2010, the cost to air a 30-second Super Bowl ad has risen from $3 million in 2009 to about $4 million in 2014, and about a fifth of advertisers opt for a one-minute ad, which doubles costs. Last year, the ads brought in $292 million, and they have brought in roughly $2 billion since 2010.
Chrysler has spent $64.3 million since 2009 to make it the fourth highest spending company in the last five years. In that time, the company has rebranded itself as it emerged from bankruptcy with the Imported from Detroit ad campaign that premiered in 2011 and last year's God Made a Farmer Ram Trucks ad. Its 2012 Halftime in America sparked national debate about whether it was also a reference to the upcoming presidential election.
Chrysler to veer away from 'Imported From Detroit' message?
Wed, 17 Apr 2013Claim some ground, control that ground and then expand. Chrysler, wandering the Earth like Kane from Kung-Fu when it came to brand message after the bailouts, pulled off the first two feats in only 120 seconds when its "Imported from Detroit" commercial aired during the 2011 Super Bowl. Two years later and now that the brand has a center in the minds of consumers, the Chrysler Group's head of marketing, Olivier Francois, says it's time to move away from the "Detroit" component of that slogan and express the "Imported" aspect.
It is, more precisely, about positioning Chrysler as genuine competition for imports and not Ford or General Motors, but rather Toyota on quality or Audi on technology. A report in Forbes said that Francois not only "wants to attract import owners to Chrysler vehicles by focusing on quality, technology, fuel economy and style," but to "take back the lead in these four things." That is the new understanding he wants people to infer from the idea of Detroit - that the nation's car capital isn't just a patriotic rallying point but a lively competitor for established giants.
Chrysler has been running ads that no longer refer to Detroit, and recent efforts have linked a specific character to each brand - like Jenny with Jeep and Steven with the Chrysler 300 - to create brand separation. Francois hasn't detailed what he plans to do to bolster Chrysler's upscale pretensions, but his efforts would be helped by CEO Sergio Marchionne loosing the pursestrings and the arrival of strong new product.
Chrysler-Fiat quality chief out after another poor Consumer Reports showing
Tue, 28 Oct 2014Fiat Chrysler has announced a management change following the company's woeful performance in the latest Consumer Reports Annual Auto Reliability Survey. Of the 28 brands surveyed, FCA's marques occupied the five the seven lowest scores, while Dodge, Ram, Jeep and Fiat were the four lowest scorers.
Doug Betts, FCA's 51-year-old head of quality "left the company to pursue other interests," which, considering the aforementioned paragraph, means he was sacked. According to Automotive News, Betts joined Chrysler in 2007, defecting from Nissan, and, insiders report, had a somewhat tumultuous relationship with new boss Sergio Marchionne.
His replacement is the newly promoted Matthew Lidane (shown at inset), who was formerly VP of systems and components. Lidane has been at Chrysler since 1987 and was previously chief engineer of the Jeep product team as well as the vehicle line boss for the compact US wide platform which (ironically) underpins two of FCA's lowest scoring vehicles, the Dodge Dart and Jeep Cherokee.
