One of a kind “numbers matching” 1962 Imperial Custom Southampton. One year only car --- pedestal headlights, gun sight taillights and split grill (not many made - very few left). Has been an Oregon car all of its life and has the papers to prove it. Original title, Original Pacific Wonderland license plates, Original stickers on plates. Spent 30+ years of is existence, dormant in the Oregon desert. I carefully brought it back to life last year. Driven weekly. Excellent running 413 engine --- oil pressure, voltage, temp, and fuel, at warm idle are pictured "does not use oil, smoke or overheat". Transmission is firm and smooth. All glass is in great shape. Body in great shape (never wrecked / no filler). Original Moonlight Blue Metallic paint. Floorboards, trunk and body are in great shape (no cancer). Underside of car in great shape --- no dents, scrapes or cancer. Lights work, windows work, power seat works, power steering works, power brakes work, wipers work, horn works. Excellent candidate for restoration or drive as is --- (cool factor off the charts, can’t go anywhere without thumbs up and people wanting to talk about it). Chrysler 300 diesel could get green light
Wed, 03 Apr 2013Word has it Chrysler is keen to shove its new turbo diesel V6 into a range of models. Wards Auto reports Chrysler President and CEO Saad Chehab has made it clear the automaker is investigating the possibility of using the 3.0-liter oil-burner in the 300. While speaking at an Automotive Press Association luncheon, Chehab said, "It's a matter of how much the customer is willing to pay for that premium. That's the only issue with it."
The Chrysler 300 is sold as the Lancia Thema in Europe complete with a diesel of its very own, and since the Jeep Grand Cherokee is now available with the diesel V6 here in the States, it only makes sense that the engine could potentially show up on the 300 order sheet. Opting for the 3.0 V6 in the Jeep Grand Cherokee will set you back an additional $4,500, however.
Chehab also said the engine could make an appearance in the next-generation Chrysler 200, which is set to debut next year.
Chrysler recalling nearly half a million vehicles with active head restraints
Thu, 04 Jul 2013Chrysler has announced that it will recall roughly 490,000 vehicles around the globe due to a potential active head-restraint problem. The problem is being blamed on "potentially faulty microcontrollers" that may keep the vehicles' anti-whiplash active safety feature from working properly. Chrysler says it has no knowledge of any accidents or injuries related to the issue. Models covered under the recall include the 2011-2013 Chrysler Sebring, 200 (shown) and Dodge Avenger models, along with 2011-2013 Jeep Liberty and 2011-2012 Dodge Nitro SUVs.
Interestingly, the Pentastar notes that the faulty part came from an (unnamed) supplier who furnished the parts in the wake of Japan's 2011 earthquake and tsunami, natural disasters which decimated the world's supply of microcontrollers.
Chrysler says of those nearly half a million vehicles affected, around 442,000 of them reside in the US, with an additional 25,000 in Canada and 10,000 units in Mexico. A further 12,000 models were shipped beyond the NAFTA region. The Auburn Hills automaker will begin sending out recall notices shortly, and technicians will upgrade the system software or replace the microcontroller as necessary at no cost to owners.
