1961 Chrysler New Yorker Base 6.7l on 2040-cars

Year:1961 Mileage:34775
Location:

Deer Trail, Colorado, United States

Deer Trail, Colorado, United States

Up for sale is a 61 New Yorker with 34775 original miles. This car has been sitting since 1982. It does run very nice and has tons of power. The car is equipped with factory air. The a/c pump kicks on and operates as it should. the brakes are soft and the left front brake is sticky. I have drove this car for about five miles with no issues. the steering is tight but the bios ply tires make it feel loose. All the weather striping and rubber is in great shape. There are a few small dents in the body and front bumper, but should be easy fixes. All trim is complete for the car. upholstery is amazingly nice except the dash and front seat, but easy fixes there too. The transmission is push button control, and works nicely. Left rear tail light is cracked and faded. Right side fin light stays on when car is running. This car needs very little to be on the cruising scene again. Thats good considering how rare extra parts are to come by.

Minivan market not what it used to be, but margins make up for it

Thu, 05 Jun 2014

Residual values for last year's minivans are higher than they were in 2000.
Much like the station wagon was the shuttle of Baby Boomer generation, the minivan has been the primary means of transport for Generations X and Y. Just as the boomers abandoned the Country Squire, though, those kids that were toted around in Grand Caravans and Windstars are adults, and they certainly don't want to be seen in the cars their parents drove.

Former Treasury boss unaware auto task force fired GM's Wagoner

Wed, 14 May 2014

We dig a good political tell-all every once in a while (how else will we get our political fix while waiting for House of Cards' third season?). Today, we get just that from former Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner's new book, "Stress Test," which details, among other parts of the 2009 financial catastrophe, the structured bankruptcy that allowed Chrysler and General Motors to emerge as competitive players in the auto industry.
In the book, which is nicely recapped by The Detroit News, Geithner discusses the firing of GM CEO Rick Wagoner while explaining how much trust he had in the auto industry task force that executed the move without his knowledge.
Auto Czar Steve Rattner "didn't even consult me before he fired General Motors CEO Rick Wagoner; if anything, that move increased my confidence in Team Auto," Geithner wrote.

Marchionne: Midsize pickup still not in the cards; Ram 1500, Jeep Wrangler could use aluminum

Wed, 07 May 2014

During the Fiat-Chrysler briefings on Tuesday, Reid Bigland, head of Ram Trucks, outlined the new product plans for his brand, including confirmation that an all-new light-duty Ram 1500 will launch in 2017. From there, discussions spun off in two directions, with the main questions being: will Ram build a midsize pickup? And, following Ford's move to extensively use aluminum in its new 2015 F-150, will Chrysler be using this weight-saving material for the next round of its fullsize truck, as well?
"I think there is room for a Ram 1000," Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne (pictured above) told members of the media, saying this is a conversation the automaker has been having internally for several years now. "We've tried this ... we've actually taken it to clinics," Marchionne stated, adding that the "response has been lukewarm."
