1955 CHRYSLER NEW YORKER
I am very pleased to offer this magnificent 1955 Chrysler New Yorker Deluxe. This is an original 43000 mile Chrysler out of a very famous collection. Powered by the famous 331 cubic inch Chrysler Hemi this car is amazing to drive. The transmission is the reliable 2 speed automatic and is also equipped with power steering and power brakes. This Chrysler is show quality in my opinion and should be entered in a preservation class. The paint is beautiful and I could not detect any accident repairs. All of the chrome is original and even with slight pitting to some of the pot metal the shine is still as new. Most importantly feast your eyes on the tail light lenses, they are simply amazing. All of the stainless is nice and the glass is free of any marks, cracks or distortion. Inside is all original and I will say one must be careful not to tear any fabric as it is dry with age. The patterns are simply wonderful and represent such a great period of transportation design. Simply the forward look at its very best. I do not have any previous records to prove the original miles but years of collecting cars simply tells me that it is correct. When you see this Chrysler you will agree. I do not know of any mechanical issues. The engine starts easily and is quiet in operation. The transmission shifts great and surprisingly the brakes perform as they should. Well there you have it a wonderful car with a million dollar look. Wouldn’t it be fun if it bid to that number. As always if you have any questions simply call or email. Remember many of our offerings are sold before the auction ends. If you wish to make an offer, call me on my personal cell at 859-533-8238. I will also allow you to retain the ebay protection. Thanks for looking.

The Chrysler Crossfire was, suffice it to say, a matter of taste. Based on old Mercedes-Benz mechanicals, it included retro styling accents and an armadillo roofline. Some loved it, but there was clearly room for improvement - not to mention more sales - and that's just what Italian coachbuilder FB Tuning had to showcase at the Top Marques show in Monaco this year. Called the FB-ONE, it's based on the Crossfire, which itself was based on the same R170 chassis as the first-generation Mercedes-Benz SLK. It packs the same 3.2-liter V6 as well, which FB claims to have tuned farther than anything Daimler-Chrysler ever managed with the same engine. Whereas the SLK32 AMG packed 354 horsepower and the Crossfire SRT-6 offered 330, the FB-One packs a nice, round 400 hp, which ought to be good for a 0-60 time of little over four seconds. As you can see, that's not all they've done with FB-One. It's also been rebodied in carbon fiber, with gold accents, deep-dish alloys that look like they came out of a casino and the headlights from an Audi A8. Whether the result is your cup of tea likely depends, as it did with the Crossfire in the first place, on your own personal tastes, so check it out for yourself in the video below.

If you've noticed that there have been more recalls than usual this year, you may be on to something. According to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the US market is on pace to break a record for recalls. In 2013, 22 million cars were recalled. We're only a third of the way through 2014, though, and we've already halved that figure, with 11 million units recalled. That's wild. Considering the past few months, it shouldn't be a surprise that General Motors is leading the charge, with six million of the 11 million units recalled coming from one of the General's four brands. Between truck recalls, CUV recalls and the ignition switch recall, 2014 hasn't been a great year for GM. Other recall leaders include Nissan (one million Sentra and Altima sedans), Honda (900,000 Odyssey minivans), Toyota (over one million units in a few recalls), Volkswagen (150,000 Passat sedans), Chrysler (644,000 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs) and most recently, Ford (434,000 units, the bulk of which were early Ford Escape CUVs). So while it's been a bad year for GM so far, its competitors aren't doing too well, either.

It's fair to say that Chrysler Corporation has been on a major perception upswing with its new products, but that rise has largely been centered around its trucks and utility vehicles - the car side has been somewhat left out. The outgoing 200 (previously skinned as the Sebring) never garnered any laurels, the Dart has suffered a rather cool reception both critically and in terms of sales, the second-gen 300 is a nice car yet it hasn't sold as well as its predecessor, and even the mighty SRT Viper has had its V10 bark muted by the less costly and multi-talented Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. Resurgent Chrysler could use a hit car, and the 2015 200 may just be it. It looks great here under the lights at the Detroit Auto Show. For one thing, it looks great here under the lights at the Detroit Auto Show. Eschewing today's oversized headlamp and grille trend, the sleek 200 (with a coefficient of drag of just .27) displays a 'four-door coupe' sensibility with a sense of style that the old 200 with its gawky greenhouse and forced details never did. The new 200's exterior may look a bit like a greatest hits compendium of other high-style cars (see also: Audi A7, Tesla Model S, etc.), but it doesn't come off as a pastiche, it's all well-integrated and organic all the same.
