This is a pretty nice car considering the age, i bought it back in September from the original owner with 81,200 miles on the odometer and right now it has just under 85,000 miles on it. Yes those are original miles, and the engine has not been rebuilt. has never been wrecked The previous owner is friends with my stepmother and she had parked it in her garage back in 1984. okay, here's a list of what has been replaced so far... battery, spark plugs and wires, distributor was rebuilt, air mass flow meter was rebuilt, ignition was rebuilt, rear brake master cylinder was rebuilt, new starter, new fuel injectors, new fuel pump, new fuel filter, new air filter, new fuel hoses and vacuum hoses, new idle control switch, new tires with roughly 3,800 miles on them as of right now, and the gas tank was cleaned, needs an alignment. I drive this car back and forth to work and around town, but i'm still having issues with the fuel system... It loses power and sputters at around 3800 to 4500 rpm's and you can smell raw fuel, i'm pretty sure a bad pressure regulator and or dampener is the cause of that. Also it smokes whenever you get the engine revved, so i'd imagine the valve seals need replacement, i would also consider replacing all the gaskets since they are 35 years old. The car has a little rust under the battery and on the drivers side rear quarter panel but has absolutely no rot anywhere. there's a panel on the inside where the dome-light is that is missing and a couple small cosmetics that need replacing but nothing major or too expensive, 3 cracks on the dash, and a small rip on the drivers seat but on a 35 year old car that's pretty much to be expected, from what iv'e seen the overall condition of the car inside and out is a little better than most. you will need to buy a weather-seal kit, the rubber is rotted. bushing need replacing, the brakes need replacing, the speedometer needs replaced and the heater stopped working and i'm pretty sure it's just the controls need to be tinkered with, There are 3 small dents, when i say small i mean the largest one is no more than 3 inches across and they can easily be hammered out. give it a new paint job to top it off and you'll have a pretty sharp car to cruise around in. it has a 4-speed transmission. most likely if you are interested in this car, you have a pretty good idea of what it's going to cost you to finish the restoration and the time it'll take to do so. I would love to finish it myself but no longer have the time or the funds for it. I would prefer to have a wire transfer to my bank account, or cash for payment. i will except payment through paypal, but there will be a 5% charge of the total price. thanks, mike. if there's any additional information you would like on this car give me a shout. remember this car is a 78 and was parked in 84, there is no carfax report.

Datsun expands low-cost revival with new Mi-Do in Moscow [w/video]
Fri, 29 Aug 2014Those who were disappointed when Datsun changed its name to Nissan over three decades ago may have been pleased to see the marque revived last year, even as a budget brand. Nissan's counterpart to its ally Renault's Dacia budget brand, Datsun has been steadily expanding its lineup of low-cost transportation for developing markets with the debut of the Go hatchback in India, the Go+ minivan in Indonesia and the On-Do sedan in Russia. And now it has returned to Moscow to reveal its fourth model, the Mi-Do.
Based closely on the On-Do sedan (which itself is based on the Lada Granta) the Mi-Do takes on a five-door hatchback bodystyle but with no more frills. It uses the same front-drive chassis with the same wheelbase as the sedan, but its chopped tail makes it a good foot and a half shorter overall. Into that compact shape, Datsun has fitted dual airbags, ABS and... well, that's about it. It's got a 1.6-liter, eight-valve inline-four kicking out a grand total of 87 horsepower to either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. Bare bones, this is.
While delivery of the first On-Do sedans commences next month (with the first example going to an IT specialist in Omsk), the Mi-Do is set to begin delivery early next year. Scope out the video and press release below from the Mi-Do's reveal at the Moscow Motor Show.
Roadkill pits every project car against each other
Sat, 22 Feb 2014The guys behind Motor Trend's monthly Roadkill series have collected nine of their favorite project cars from their videos and pitted them against each other in a battle royale to determine a winner. It's 44 minutes long, but it's completely worth the investment of time.
The cars run the gamut from a 1973 Chevrolet Ramp Truck, a 1975 AMC Pacer and a legitimately impressive 1967 Chevy Camaro, and they are pitted against each other to see which is the fastest around an autocross course. The drivers include Roadkill's two hosts and Motor Trend's Johnny Lieberman and Carlos Lago. It's reminiscent of the best episodes of Top Gear and worth a watch.
So it's the weekend - the perfect time to relax. Grab your preferred beverage, get comfortable and enjoy 44 minutes of some seriously ratty but utterly cool project cars as they are throttled within an inch of their lives (or past it). Scroll down to check out the video.
Datsun previews new budget sedan for Russia [w/video]
Thu, 13 Mar 2014Nobody does cars on the cheap quite like the Renault-Nissan Alliance. The former part of the equation already has its Dacia brand of cost-effective, no-frills vehicles that have become a favorite of Top Gear co-host James May, and last summer, the latter revived its Datsun nameplate for a budget brand of its own.
The reborn Datsun launched in India this past July with its Go hatchback, returned in September with the Go+ minivan and revealed the Redi-Go concept just last month. And now it's given us our first look at an upcoming budget sedan developed specifically for the Russian market.
The as-yet unnamed vehicle (which we'll bet will incorporate the word "go" into its nameplate somehow) is set to debut on April 4, where it will launch the Datsun brand in Russia. Few details are available at this point, but the low-cost sedan was designed in Japan to offer Russian drivers "an engaging driving experience, peace of mind ownership and accessibility at the right and transparent price, with a competitive Total Cost of Ownership."
