For sale is a 1983 Datsun Nissan 280zx. Reliable daily driver. All work was done by professional mechanics with paperwork on file.
Recently Remanufactured Parts: - Power Steering Pump - Brakes Recently Replaced Parts: - Fuel Filter - Various Hoses - Fuel Injection Interior: - Great condition for its age. Very clean. See photos - New Console compartment cover - New interior glove box piece - Various new trim plugs - Dash cracks as pictured. - New headliner - Lock pillar trim is cracked at the screws - Headliner plastic trim should be replaced as it does not fit perfectly tight to the ceiling. Tires: - Rear tires have lower tread and should be replaced soon. - All wheels recently balanced. Paint: - Originally a brown 280zx - Previous owner had it repainted Silver (this is not a showroom quality paint job, and you will see imperfections) Rust: - Battery tray area - Minor signs of rust near exterior windshield trim. - Minor rust on rear side window exterior bolt - Minor signs in various areas (if you require full detail of certain areas please let me know) - The car looks good visually, unless you get close to inspect Transmission: - Manual is functioning if used gently and is reliable as a daily driver, but shows signs of age. Speed shifting will produce gear chirping in certain areas. - Recent fluid replacement Engine: - Feels very strong. Runs very smoothly. Idle is good. - Recently replaced value cover gasket - Minor leaks, nothing on concrete but some wetness Windows: - Windshield is not original, replaced by previous owner - Rear window has light tinting applied to protect interior plastic. - Power windows work Doors: - Driver side door creaks sometimes when opening - Passender door latch is a little loose, so the door does not close perfectly flush but locks - Door seals are worn, but do not seem to leak rain - Hatch seal is new and great condition - Hatch lifts are new, tight, and hold the hatch open properly Electric: - Power windows work - Power door mirrors work - Power locks work - warning voice works - Power antenna works - Alpine stereo works for radio, but cassette player does not. Unit can control the antenna. - Have never tried the rear defrosters due to the tint (was concerned it may damage the tint?) - Heater blows hot - Air Conditions blows cool, but not ice cold. Sometimes after running it for 5 minutes it stops. Fans are good. - Aspirator fan was disconnected due to it being noisy |

Datsun debuts new seven-seat Go+ in Indonesia [w/video]
Wed, 18 Sep 2013The Datsun name may have long since been replaced by Nissan, but the old brand is making a comeback - in certain markets, at least. Nissan relaunched the Datsun brand in July as its new budget brand for developing markets with the debut of the Go hatchback, and has now followed up with the addition of the larger Go+.
Set to be built in Indonesia at Nissan's plant in Purwakarta, the Go+ debuts today in the capital of Jakarta as the second model in the new Datsun lineup. The seven-passenger minivan features flexible seating in a compact form 13 feet long, powered by an unspecified 1.2-liter engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
Nissan isn't saying much else about the model, but hopes the new Datsun twins will account for half of its sales in Indonesia within three years. The low price target for both models - set to come in at less than 100 million rupiah ($8,700) - ought to help it get there. The lineup is then scheduled to reach other markets, starting with India, Russia and South Africa next year.

A Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Bentley Continental GT or, assuming fuel efficiency isn't paramount, a Range Rover are all good options for a road trip. But what if that road trip was 37,000 miles? Maybe something more reliable but still comfortable, then, like a Honda Accord. What about a 1967 Datsun Roadster?
As insane as it sounds, Scott Fisher is doing just that, running a Datsun 1600 Roadster across North America and racking up 13,500 miles in his first three months on the road. His total journey will see him pile over 37,000 miles on his red convertible. The car is lightly modified, but most of the work is for the sake of reliability and comfort, with a five-speed manual 'box, an upgraded radiator and electronic ignition.
Fisher's trip hasn't been all smooth, with a few typical bits of trouble. He also ran into some deer in Utah, quite literally, clipping one of the animals, which delivered quite a bit of damage to the passenger's front fender (hence the rear three-quarter view in our lead shot). Still, the car seems to be holding up well, as shown in this latest video from Petrolicious.
Datsun officially reborn with Go model for India [w/video]
Mon, 15 Jul 2013In March of 2012, Nissan announced the return of its historic Datsun brand. Datsun used to represent the Nissan brand in a number of markets, but its badge hasn't been worn on a new model since 1981. In 2013, though, it has been relaunched as the Japanese manufacturer's budget offering in the emerging markets of India and Russia.
The model that will lead that charge, at least in India, is the Go, a car that pays tribute to the very first Datsun, the DAT-GO.
The operative term with the Datsun brand is: "budget offering." Don't step inside the Go and expect beautiful hides or brushed metals (it's being sold in India, after all). The instrument cluster features a simple speedometer, while the five-speed manual and the center stack above it are rather barren. It's not without luxuries, though, as iPod-style connectivity is available through a Mobile Docking Station.
