Export No Problem...

This is an AWESOME, Rust Free, Custom 280Z V8. This little hot rod is a very nicely built Chevy V8 conversion. Rebuilt High performance 350 SBC and rebuilt turbo 350 automatic trans... double the horse power = double the fun... :) body kit, whale tale, and true side pipes give it that period correct hot rod look on the iconic first gen Datsun Z platform. This little rod is well executed... runs, and drives great... I've owned many V8 Z's... this one is NICE!. Great daily driver or weekend cruiser, or addition to any collection...  really cool to look at and super fun to drive.

Body is super straight with no signs of rust or collision damage that I can see. Excellent driver condition repaint in datsun blue metallic presents beautifully with only minor niks and blemishes. Not a trailer queen show car... its a proud hot rod/driver. Underside is nice and clean. Period Correct mag rims with fresh tires. Pics tell the story on this one. It gets alot of looks especially when you hit the gas... :)

Interior is in great shape. Seats,  Panels, headliner and carpet are very nice. Quality Dash cover and custom center console. Gauges and Electronics all work properly, even the clock...AMAZING!... :) Cold AC and modern upgraded sound system.

High performance Chevy 350 motor starts, runs, and drives great...
aluminum intake manifold, freshly rebuilt 4 barrel, up-dated electronic ignition, headers and custom side pipe exhaust sounds awesome. Nice machine work and installation. Motor starts, runs, and idles excellent... It hauls A**.  Incredibly responsive, sounds awesome and is extremely quick. Trans shifts smooth through the gears... Jumps off the line and cruises nice on the freeway. Suspension is all redone and feels tight and handles great...all new brake system stops straight and sure. SUPER nice driver.

Overall this is a really nice Rust Free Custom V8 Z car in great condition all around... Conversion was done right and feels AWESOME. Easy daily driver or weekend cruiser, or potential show car. I am a Z collector... this is a great one for any Z car enthusiast, collector, or anyone looking for a cool, vintage sports car at a great price... this is a real opportunity... :)

The car is located in Beverly Hills... Inspections are welcome and encouraged... serious buyers can call me at 310 850 8980 but no tire kickers please. I'm open to interesting trades (within ebay guidelines) but no projects or junk please.

37K miles in a 1967 Datsun Roadster

Tue, 11 Mar 2014

When we think of comfy, long-distance road cars, there are a few obvious choices. A Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Bentley Continental GT or, assuming fuel efficiency isn't paramount, a Range Rover are all good options for a road trip. But what if that road trip was 37,000 miles? Maybe something more reliable but still comfortable, then, like a Honda Accord. What about a 1967 Datsun Roadster?
As insane as it sounds, Scott Fisher is doing just that, running a Datsun 1600 Roadster across North America and racking up 13,500 miles in his first three months on the road. His total journey will see him pile over 37,000 miles on his red convertible. The car is lightly modified, but most of the work is for the sake of reliability and comfort, with a five-speed manual 'box, an upgraded radiator and electronic ignition.
Fisher's trip hasn't been all smooth, with a few typical bits of trouble. He also ran into some deer in Utah, quite literally, clipping one of the animals, which delivered quite a bit of damage to the passenger's front fender (hence the rear three-quarter view in our lead shot). Still, the car seems to be holding up well, as shown in this latest video from Petrolicious.

Datsun Redi-Go is reborn brand's first concept car [w/video]

Wed, 05 Feb 2014

Nissan's plan for its reborn Datsun sub-brand just got a shot in the arm, as the emerging-market manufacturer has unveiled its first concept car since its resurrection back in 2012. Called the Redi-Go Concept, it looks like a high-riding version of Datsun's recently launched Go hatchback that's been fitted with a few concept car cues (not a bad thing).
The Redi-Go packs LED taillights, Datsun's "D-cut grille" and LED running lights into its Go-inspired body. Funky two-tone 15-inch wheels add a bit of cheek to the overall design, and in our minds look quite good, despite being so small. The ruggedized front and rear bumpers, as well as the sill and wheel arch surrounds add to the Redi-Go's rough-and-tumble aesthetic. We like that Datsun has kept the overall package short, giving the Redi-Go a 92.5-inch wheelbase, rather than creating a lifted version of the upcoming Go+. There are no specific mentions of the Redi-Go's mechanicals, although we'd wager that a production model might share the 1.2-liter engine and five-speed manual found in the standard Go.
While it might be easy to dismiss a concept like the Redi-Go in America, there's no denying its importance to the Indian market, which is decidedly more limited when it comes to available bodystyles. "If we were to make a car like Datsun Redi-Go Concept it would be a segment creator in India, an aspirational car that at the same time is attainable, a car that would be within reach of the first time buyer. This concept shows how serious we are about reinvigorating the market by catering for the needs of a growing class of Indians who have the chance to own a family car that will enable them to enjoy a new sense of independence," said Vincent Cobee, the global head of Datsun.

Nissan IDx 'in the plan' for production, needs support from fans [w/poll]

Wed, 15 Jan 2014

If there's a trend in the auto industry we can firmly get behind, it's the small, light and affordable rear-drive coupe. The positive critical reception to the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ twins has encouraged other manufacturers to look at building their own rear drivers, and even a few to show actual concept cars based on the idea. The Chevrolet Code 130R from 2012 and more recently, the Nissan IDx twins that were first shown at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show both come to mind, as does the brand-new Kia GT4 Stinger Concept.
Nissan trotted out the IDx Nismo and the IDx Freeflow for another showing in Detroit and we'll admit to being totally smitten with both cars. Again. The duo draw inspiration from the iconic Datsun 510, a lightweight, affordable rear-driver that remains a cult favorite decades after production ended.
Now, a report from our friends at AutoWeek reveals that we may, possibly, hopefully see a production IDx, provided fans make a strong enough case for it. "It's in the plan," Nissan product boss Andy Palmer told AW. According to the report, Palmer said the IDx is "into the first sage of the development process. The next stage is project validation and then looking at the business case. It's no one's intent to waste millions of the company's money, so obviously we have a good feeling about this one."
