The car currently has 73, xxx miles, it is daily driven. I am the second owner of the vehicle, bought it in December 2010 with 20 100 miles. I just serviced it- new timing and oil pump chains, oil change, tire rotation. The engine runs very strong, burns very minimal amount of oil (per the owner's manual it is normal for this turbo car to burn 1qt between oil changes, this one burns less than 1/2qt). The AC is ice cold.
The modifications done to the vehicle (prices paid):
- Dual intercooler setup ($200)
- MPX 3.5" downpipe ($345)
- B&G tuned ECU (17.9PSI peak boost, $525)
- 50mm Blow off valve (blocked off factory diverter valve, $90)
-NGK Iridium spark plugs (2 heat ranges colder, $45)
-180*F thermostat
- NS1 fuel injectors ($80)
- manual boost controller
- Stainless steel air filter
- Progressive lowering springs (1.8" front, 1.7" rear drop, $90)
- 17mm wheel spacers front, 32mm wheel spacers rear ($150)
- The MIGYG head unit (replaced the factory 6-disc in-dash CD changer unit, $1100)
- Front lower lip $80)
- black housing headlights ($120)
- Upgraded turbo charge pipe ($75)
- carbon fiber wrapped dash bezel, shifter bezel and roof rails
- full interior LED lighting
- self-dimming rear view mirror
- OPTIMA Red Top battery ($200)
- BOSCH longer windshield wipers
- 20mm bullet antenna
-SRT grill and hood badges
(TOTAL for prices listed: $3100)

Included for free but not installed: High performance clutch with an aluminum flywheel ($800)

The car was dynoed at Central Florida Turbo (03/01/2011) on a 13PSI tune and put down 328WHP and 324WTQ. It should have at least 345WHP and 350WTQ with the new 17.9PSI tune (conservative numbers), this translates to 380HP and 390TQ at the crankshaft. The car pulls VERY hard, will occasionally spin the tires even in 3rd gear. The transmission shifts very nicely, the quality of the ride is very impressive- the progressive springs give it a comfortable straight line ride and excellent cornering characteristics when pushed hard. I have always used the factory-recommended 0W40 MOBIL-1 full synthetic oil. The paint is shiny, interior smells like new, everything works as it always did, reliable and fast hot hatch. There are no oil leaks of any sort, no rattles or squeaks. The doors function like new, power windows as well. The sunroof drains are clean and it does not leak inside the car. All 13 KICKER speakers are performing as new, the sound system is very powerful and crisp. As expected from a Florida vehicle, there is absolutely ZERO rust on the car, not a single detail has any rust on it.

The bad- there are two exterior dents on the car caused by envious people at shopping plazas- one dent on the driver's side rear door and one on the passenger side quarter panel. Both can be repaired via paint-less dent removal. There are three small cracks on the driver's side seat left bolster. The factory dual mass flywheel chatters at idle, I had the car checked by Airport Dodge of Orlando and they recommended driving it until it shows a defect, 50 000 miles later it is still good, plenty of clutch pedal and its only audible at idle. I am including a slightly used aluminum flywheel/high performance clutch with the car. It can be changed right away, however I do not see a need until the factory clutch shows a defect. The factory wheels have been striped off the clearcoat (it was cracking) and since then they have been polished by hand. Their condition is 9 out of 10 in terms of shine, no curb damage or bending. Tires have about 50% thread life left, no plugs or patches. Everything else on the car is in excellent condition and perfect working order. The car is an absolute blast to drive, I get compliments on it everywhere I bring it.

Repairs done to the car since I have owned it are: replaced throttle body at 43k miles, replaced left front strut, wheel bearing and fender (small accident involving the front left wheel ~50k miles, unsure if CARFAX will show this but I am being honest), replaced oil pump at 53k miles, replaced MAP sensor at 53k miles (I broke the original sensor while working on the oil pump replacement). There is no other damages or items that are not as I have already described. I encourage any buyers to come, look at the car, take it for a test drive and even bring it to a shop and get it inspected if desired. My goal is to have a 100% satisfied buyer.

I have priced the car at the Kelly Blue Book private party selling price for "very good condition" at $ 12600. My price is firm, all of the modifications and the clutch(worth $3900 new or at least $2000 used) come with the car for free.

Please "Buy Now" the vehicle only if you have cash on hand or you are pre- aproved for a car loan on this specific vehicle, I have included the VIN number needed for a car loan application. I will not waste your time and I ask the same of you. No joy rides or tire kickers please. The vehicle currently has a lien and I will work with you to get you the title as soon as possible.

Challenger A/T Unlimited Concept could be your next Hellcat-powered ORV

Fri, 29 Aug 2014

This past June I spent an excellent day hanging out with Joey Ruiter, driving and discussing his Reboot Buggy project. Before heading home, I let him know that he was more than welcome to keep me abreast of whichever new automotive project he'd get into. You can never have too many car designers and one-off fabricators in your Rolodex, right?
Ruiter recently made good with the follow-up, emailing me with details on this Dodge Challenger A/T Untamed Concept that pushes a lot of hot buttons for the muscle car and off-roading enthusiasts.
This all-terrain Mopar is a lot more than a Challenger body dropped on a truck chassis, too. A materialized version of the A/T would included a completely new, long-travel suspension, skid plates, body armor and rock sliders, and obviously flared fenders to help accommodate a hellacious set of off-road-ready tires. The dramatically revised underpinnings would be topped with a slick graphics package and a killer lower light bar, all making the A/T look quite cohesive in its own, radical way. And the result would be a car no longer limited to mere road-driving.

Dodge vs. Chevy tug-of-war taken to the extreme

Mon, 17 Dec 2012

They say "idle hands are the devil's playground," but said playgrounds grow to Disney-sized proportions when a pair of jacked-up trucks, two egos, a chain and an empty mall parking lot are involved. Proof of this is the video below, which shows a Cummins-powered Dodge Ram circa 2006 to 2008 chained tail-to-tail with what looks to be a gasoline-powered Chevrolet Silverado from the late 1990s or early 2000s.
We don't necessarily have to tell you who wins this battle, but we'll let you see for yourself the lengths the "winning" driver goes to prove his point. There's plenty of foul language in the video below, so beware that this might be Not Safe For Work, and not that we should have to tell you, but please, do not try this at home.

Roadkill pits every project car against each other

Sat, 22 Feb 2014

The guys behind Motor Trend's monthly Roadkill series have collected nine of their favorite project cars from their videos and pitted them against each other in a battle royale to determine a winner. It's 44 minutes long, but it's completely worth the investment of time.
The cars run the gamut from a 1973 Chevrolet Ramp Truck, a 1975 AMC Pacer and a legitimately impressive 1967 Chevy Camaro, and they are pitted against each other to see which is the fastest around an autocross course. The drivers include Roadkill's two hosts and Motor Trend's Johnny Lieberman and Carlos Lago. It's reminiscent of the best episodes of Top Gear and worth a watch.
So it's the weekend - the perfect time to relax. Grab your preferred beverage, get comfortable and enjoy 44 minutes of some seriously ratty but utterly cool project cars as they are throttled within an inch of their lives (or past it). Scroll down to check out the video.
