Fully restored to excellent drivers condition. Paint is perfect, longitudal stripe has one small blemmish. Chrome trim has two small dings in rear window trim. Bumpers rechromed. Tires show very little wear. Steering wheel is cracked. Trip odometer, radio and clock do'nt work. Completly new interior and vinyl top from Legendary. Starts, runs, drives good with cold a.c.,electronic igition and aluminium radiator. I would'nt hesitate taking this car anywhere. Fly in and drive home."

Second owner. Origionaly from the dry climate of El Paso, Tx.. Three small rust areas found during restoration. One in the trunk, one in front of drivers rear wheel and one small spot behind engine in the wiper well. This one was'nt fixed due to it's location. L.A.built so no broadcast sheet. Fender tag as follows: END, N88=tach, R11=am radio, V1W=white vinyl roof, V6W=white longitudal stripes, 26=26"radiator, H51=air cond., J25=3spd wipers, J45=hood pins, M21=drip rail mldgs, N41=duel exhaust, N42=brite exhaust tips, A62=rally inst. cluster, C16=consule w/wood grain, C55=bucket seats, G31=r.h. rear view mirror, G33=L.h.remote rear view mirror, EB5=brite blue metallic, H5B5=blue vinyl seats w/cloth inserts, 000=full door panels, CO8=dec.8, 053591, E63=383-4bbl w/air, D32=A727 auto, JS23NOE124381. Also has power steering. I the second owner added the luggage rack, flip top gas cap, super stock leaf springs, electronic ignition and 15x7 front, 15x8 rear magnum wheels with BF Goodrich radial T/A's. The best thing I added was the aliminium radiator. The temp guage never exceeds the bottom of the normal range even with the a.c. running. The origional radiator is long gone. The glass is all good, front windshield and rear window were replaced and the side windows are origional. The lites all work. The gas tank was replaced along with the fuel pump and carb.. The engine has what I believe to be hardened valve seats but I add octane booster just incase. I never did much to the engine because it has good compression and does'nt smoke. But the origional owners replaced the four barrel intake, carb and air cleaner with a two barrel to conserve fuel. The origional parts are long gone. The exhaust is origional with the resinators. The trans was rebuilt with a new tourque converter and shift kit. The shifter is the "slap stick". As most Mopars, the motor, trans and power steering do leak a little. New u-joints and diff. fluid was changed. The grill is origional and in great shape. Still has complete origional jack. The air works great but you must pop the hood the change the temp setting at the mixing valve. The dash cable is too weak to do it. Still has origional front end rubber bushings but I did replace the shocks and brakes. Emergancy brake does'nt work due to rusty cables. This is a nice car that gets alot of attention but it is 43 years old and I do suggest as with any car you make a trip to see it before you commit to buy it. I've made this discription as thorough as possible so there's no suprises. The origional owners bought it off the show room floor and I have owned it since '99. I have the origional title from the El Paso dealer to the first owner. Never smoked in since the resto. but the ash tray shows use. After working the car over I do believe the milage to be correct. SORRY NO TRADES. All questions will be answered to the best of my knowlage. 719-205-5001

Dodge Charger R/T NHRA Funny Car is ready to burn rubber at SEMA [w/video]

Wed, 05 Nov 2014

The Dodge Charger R/T is all set to rocket down the drag strip in NHRA Funny Car competition with a completely redesigned body debuting at this year's SEMA Show. While only the front decal, side scallops and rear logo really signal this racer as a Charger, that doesn't take away from its promise of hitting absolutely ludicrous speeds.
The engineers' biggest tweak to the body was moving the cockpit further back. This created more clearance under the hood, and the change came with added advantage of giving the driver better visibility out of the car. Composites like Kevlar also helped make the one-piece shell even lighter, while not sacrificing strength.
The new design has already undergone extensive time in the wind tunnel and real-world runs to make sure that none of the changes negatively impacted the aerodynamics. With those tests out of the way, the Charger R/T Funny Car will have the first chance to truly prove itself in NHRA competition at the 2015 Winternationals from February 5-9 at Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, CA.

Edmunds ranks the best used cars for 2013

Sun, 15 Sep 2013

When people ask us what car we would recommend for them, it's usually not easy to answer. To make a useful recommendation we must consider which of the numerous vehicle segments fits their needs best, and then choose one of the many vehicles offered in each segment. For some people, new cars don't meet their expectations of value, because they lose so much of it the moment they are purchased and driven off the dealer lot. For them, there's always the used-car market, where great deals can be found, but cars' histories of reliability and maintenance records - and perhaps that Certified Pre-Owned warranty - become ever-important factors playing into purchase choice.
To help out, Edmunds has done us the favor of assembling a list of the best used vehicles money can buy, covering model years 2006-2011, according to what it considers the most important criteria when shopping for used autos: reliability, safety, value and availability. That means unreliable, unsafe, super-expensive or limited-edition models don't appear on the list, but instead cars from each segment that are more likely to satisfy the general population.
There are some real goodies on the list, including but not limited to vehicles such as the capable Honda Fit, the cultish Honda Accord coupe (which can be had with a 240-horsepower V6 and a six-speed manual transmission some years), and the powerful Chevrolet Corvette. While Edmunds' choice of the Volvo C70 for best used convertible baffled us at first (not that it's a bad car), it redeemed itself by stating that the Mazda MX-5 still is an unofficial top choice if you don't require more than two seats.

2013 Dodge Charger SRT8 Super Bee

Tue, 12 Mar 2013

I can pinpoint the exact moment when I fell in love with this car. It was starting down a nearly straight entrance ramp at 15 miles per hour when I buried the throttle. In a moment, I was thrown back into my seat as the big SRT8's engine came to life with commensurate sound, fury and force, bringing me up to 75 mph in what felt like two blinks of an eye. This thing feels so much quicker than its 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque would lead you to believe. And mashing the right pedal never, ever gets old.
But beyond sheer speed, I found a whole lot to like about the Charger SRT8 during my week with the Pitch Black test car here in Detroit. And while the whole Super Bee kit isn't really my style, it's really easy to overlook those badges for a package that offers so much for so little.
