Hello, We are selling an all original '66 dodge charger 318 auto, in very good condition for its year. The reserve is set very low, please bid accordingly. Condition of the car: The charger is driveable, it cranks up beautifully and it brakes right away. All of the glass comes up and down and the tires are also good (replaced a couple years ago). I was told that the engine has already been rebuilt by the prior owner, mileage is assumed to be original. The interior is complete in black leather and is in really nice shape (there are one or two small tears but this is an easy fix (please see pictures). I also have a lot of the original trim pieces, hub caps, steering wheel, etc. on hand - I planned to put these things back on but have not had time up until now. The body is epoxy sealed, primered black. There is only (very) little surface rust around tiny pinholes (again easy fix) but the panels (incl. trunk) are solid. I have many other projects going on so unfortunately I have to let one of them go. The charger is in good condition but it could use some TLC, like new gas pedal, alignment, maybe brakes, prep body work for painting depending on what you want to do with it. Dodge Viper GTS-R goes back to old-school livery
Fri, 20 Jun 2014The Dodge Viper may have been around now for over 20 years, but as far as racing achievements go, 2000 was its finest season. That's when it won the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the GTS class trophy at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and its second consecutive title in the American Le Mans Series.
Since then, SRT Motorsports hasn't quite had the same success, withdrawing from Le Mans this year and shedding the Dodge name and its emblematic red and white livery for the SRT badge and a silver snakeskin theme. But now that the Viper is back under the Dodge banner, so too is the racing team returning to its classic livery.
Starting from the six-hour race at Watkins Glen next week, both the No. 91 and No. 93 Viper GTS-Rs will wear the red base color with twin white racing stripes that its more accomplished forebears wore on circuits around the world. And with it, maybe the Viper will return once again to the winner's circle at home and abroad.
Roadkill pits every project car against each other
Sat, 22 Feb 2014The guys behind Motor Trend's monthly Roadkill series have collected nine of their favorite project cars from their videos and pitted them against each other in a battle royale to determine a winner. It's 44 minutes long, but it's completely worth the investment of time.
The cars run the gamut from a 1973 Chevrolet Ramp Truck, a 1975 AMC Pacer and a legitimately impressive 1967 Chevy Camaro, and they are pitted against each other to see which is the fastest around an autocross course. The drivers include Roadkill's two hosts and Motor Trend's Johnny Lieberman and Carlos Lago. It's reminiscent of the best episodes of Top Gear and worth a watch.
So it's the weekend - the perfect time to relax. Grab your preferred beverage, get comfortable and enjoy 44 minutes of some seriously ratty but utterly cool project cars as they are throttled within an inch of their lives (or past it). Scroll down to check out the video.
