I have had this car since 2004 and will describe it to the very best of my ability. I am not real eager to sell, but other things have priorities. This is a 1969 dodge charger, was a factory ac car, but ac is long gone. I have a non ac heater box that will go with the car, but it is not installed. I never drove the car in cold weather so I never installed it. So no heat, no air. Original engine was a 383 2 barrell. Now has a 1969 440 hp motor. Rear end is a 3:55 suregrip, automatic transmission. vin matches title, dash trunk lip and radiator support. clean, clear title.
Ok good points. Engine was rebuilt and I have put just over 2000 miles on it. transmission was rebuilt as well. Brand new sure grip rear end installed last summer. I have about 500 miles on it. Gas tank , sending unit, all lines are new. Car has 4 wheel drum brakes, all new lines, booster, master cylinder and brake components. Could stop better, but it is a drum brake car. All the wiring is new from Year one. that includes dash harness rear light harness , forward light harness, all of them. I spent lotsa money on factory wiring for this car. Alternator, starter, hp manifolds, power steering pump, radiator, are all new and also from year one. Paint is about 2 years old. It isnt a show car paint job, but is very presentable. I had trunk pan , extensions, and rear crossmember replaced. Both rear quarters were replaced, prior to my ownership. vaccum headlights work as they should. I installed dynamat on the door panels and floor boards as well as new carpert and new center console. Exhaust system was installed last year with dynamax mufflers. Not a concourse factory job, but its ok.
Bad points. The front end is original and has not been changed, at least to not my knowledge. The car drives straight without any issues, but it was my intent to have it upgraded eventually. It needs a rear leaf spring shackle bushing installed on the drivers side. The interior is all original. and looks ok. I would probably only replace the seat covers and the headligner. There is a mouse hole under the passenger side sunvisor. Look at the pics and you can tell. Not bad, but to be perfect, they need changed, but perfectly fine for me now as a driver car. missing back cover on passenger seat. Door panels are nice as well as the door pads, especially for 45 years old. windows all roll up and down fine, except the right rear. It works, but needs guided with your hand. It has a bad nylon roller, Not a big issue, expecially being a general lee, but wanted to point it out. radio is an am radio and is for looks. I wanted the factory appearance, but really have no desire for am radio. It does leak some oil and the power steering box recently started leaking, Iam pretty sure from the rear seal needs replaced. Not a major issue for as often as I drive the car, but I wanted to point them out.
General lee stuff. It has high quality decals installed a year ago, push bar and roll bar are an exact match from the show. Cb is the cobra 78x as the original general lees, it is mounted but not wired to the car. has the correct tear drop antenna. Wheels are american racing vecors 8.5 on the rear with 245 60 r 15 bfg and 15x7 up front running 235 60 r 15. Tires are all in good shape, Same 2000 miles on them. The sunvisors were signed by john schneider on the drivers side and tom wopat on the passenger side. The tail lights are from a Original tv series general lee and have the plaque mounted on them from when they were purchased from warner bros. Has the dixie horn, but factory horn is still functional.
All in all it is a very nice driver General Lee that gets tons of attention and blows away other cars at the car shows. It is a blast for sure. I usually just drive it around locally, and have not driven it on any where more than a 60 mile round trip, so whether or not you can pick it up and drive it home across country. Your guess is as good as mine. I wouldnt, but thats just me.
I think I have covered it pretty well, althogh I am sure Iam forgetting something. if you have any questions or need additional pics please email me.
I require a $250 dollar non refundable deposit immediately after the auction closes.
If you want to inspect it before you bid, that is fine, and I encourage it.
Prefer cash pickup in person, but if you have it shipped, I will not release the car until the entire purchase price clears the issuers bank.
Thank you

Roadkill pits every project car against each other
Sat, 22 Feb 2014The guys behind Motor Trend's monthly Roadkill series have collected nine of their favorite project cars from their videos and pitted them against each other in a battle royale to determine a winner. It's 44 minutes long, but it's completely worth the investment of time.
The cars run the gamut from a 1973 Chevrolet Ramp Truck, a 1975 AMC Pacer and a legitimately impressive 1967 Chevy Camaro, and they are pitted against each other to see which is the fastest around an autocross course. The drivers include Roadkill's two hosts and Motor Trend's Johnny Lieberman and Carlos Lago. It's reminiscent of the best episodes of Top Gear and worth a watch.
So it's the weekend - the perfect time to relax. Grab your preferred beverage, get comfortable and enjoy 44 minutes of some seriously ratty but utterly cool project cars as they are throttled within an inch of their lives (or past it). Scroll down to check out the video.
2014 Challenger R/T Shaker, Mopar '14 Challenger bring back iconic hood
Tue, 05 Nov 2013Enamored of the Dodge Challenger but wish you could get one with a shaker hood? We've got good news, because Dodge and Mopar have teamed up to bring it back.
The 2014 Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker packs the same 5.7-liter Hemi V8 as the standard Challenger R/T, but upgrades the business end with a through-the-hood exposed cold-air intake system. The retro hood scoop protrudes from the center of the hood in satin black (matching the decklid spoiler) to feed the Hemi and shakes with the engine just like the original from 1970. The Shaker model also comes with a Super Track Pak that adds a new steering rack, brake linings, shocks and 20-inch Goodyear Eagle F1 Super Car rubber. You can also shut off the stability management system completely in this car. A series of interior and exterior trim enhancements round out the look. The whole package adds $2,500 to the price of a Challenger R/T Classic for an all-in MSRP of $36,995.
In case that's not enough, Dodge is also offering a limited-edition Mopar Challenger that follows the 2010 Mopar Challenger, 2011 Mopar Charger, 2012 Mopar 300 and 2013 Mopar Dart. Limited to just 100 examples, the 2014 Mopar Challenger gets the same Shaker hood intake, unique graphics and wheels, an enhanced interior and a long list of optional extras from the Mopar parts catalog. Dodge isn't saying just yet how much the Mopar Challenger will cost, but you can bet it will command a considerable premium for the exclusivity alone.
Diesel Power finds the ultimate modified oil-burner
Sat, 24 Aug 2013For nine years, Diesel Power magazine has run the Diesel Power Challenge, this year's grindfest being "a week-long torture test that features seven events, nine trucks, 8,000 horsepower, and nearly 15,000 pound-feet of torque." The road to being crowned "the most powerful truck" starts with a dyno run, and then continues through the completion of a CDL-style obstacle course, an eighth-of-a-mile drag race while towing a 10,000-pound trailer, a quarter-mile drag race without a trailer, a fuel economy test in the mountains and finally a sled-pulling test through a 300-foot-long packed-mud pit.
What kind of trucks get into such a fight? Last year's winner, for instance - who upgraded his truck this year to prove he didn't "luck into the win" - drives a 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 6.4-liter Power Stroke V8 upgraded with a custom intake, Elite Diesel triple turbos and a two-stage nitrous system. Another competitor has a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 powered by a 5.9-liter Cummins inline-six, upgraded with Garrett turbos, dual-stage nitrous, a seven-inch exhaust stack and twin fans built into the bed to cool the Sun Coast Omega transmission. The numbers on that truck: 1,255 horsepower, and 2,063 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. Naturally, as the image above might suggest, things don't always end well.
You'll find all five videos covering this years challenge below. A scene in the dyno video sums it all up perfectly: a competitor leaves his nitrous on too long and the crew is treated to some ominous poppings, he leans out the window, throws both hands up and shouts, "Amer'ca!"
