1971 Dodge Charger 500 with 383 matching numbers motor.  This car is a 383-2 barrel.  I have not tried to attempt to start the motor.  It looks like it may have been setting for a while and will need rebuild.  It does NOT have the radiator.   I had purchased this car last year in Tennessee for parts.  I needed front fenders so that is why this car will not come with fenders.  Other missing items:  no dash insert, no front or rear bumpers, no front valance, no vinyl top trim, no front or rear window trim, side chrome trim does not come with car.  The car is missing parts, but is a good car to put back together since it has a good body and frame.  I do have the title and fender tag..no build sheet.

The quarter panels are really nice.  The pictures show that we had sanded down the quarters to show the bare metal and no rust.  The rear floor pans will need to be replaced.  There are replacements that are available.  There are some holes in the trunk as shown.

Interior: The interior will need to be redone. It will need new bucket seat covers, carpeting, headliner, dash pad, etc.  The front floor pan is solid. Will need the rear floor pan.

The car does come with a 71 flat hood that had been media blasted and is bare metal.  There is also the deck lid that had been media blasted and is bare metal...it does have holes on the underneath that will need repair.  The car had been primered..not epoxy prime.  So this car should be sanded down again before painting.

The front rallye wheels do NOT come with the vehicle.  I will replace it with some basic steel wheels.

The car is in Brown City, Michigan.  Brown City is north of Detroit.  The car will have to be picked up there.

If you have any questions please send a message through Ebay messaging or call me at 586-770-4412.

The reserve is very low for this vehicle..do not ask what it is.  If you bid on it, make sure you can pay for it and have the means to get the vehicle.  Please read item description carefully, know what comes with the car and does not!

Deposit of $200.00 is due within 48 hours at the close of auction.  The remainder is due within 7 days of close of auction.  If the car can not be picked up by 7 days of close of auction, bidder must contact me before bidding to make arrangements.

Chrysler almost smothered the Hellcat before it lived

Thu, 06 Nov 2014

Chrysler's 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 was an absolute sensation from the very moment it was announced, and honestly, how could it not have been? Packing 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, its numbers immediately put every other production muscle car (and many supercars) to shame. Plus, we soon learned that would be wrapped in a package retailing for around $60,000 - a pittance compared to other vehicles offering similar grunt. However, the Hellcat almost never got the chance to rumble under the hood of the Challenger and Charger.
The Hellcat was initially proposed back in 2011, back when Fiat was deciding its future strategy for Chrysler Group, according to Automotive News. At the time, the company was just emerging from its bankruptcy doldrums, and an ultra-high-performance V8 wasn't exactly a must-have item. The program didn't move forward. However, SRT engineers kept fighting, according to AN, and four months later, they received the green light to pull the project off the shelf and continue developing the Hellcat. The muscle car world is certainly better for that decision.
The work of those engineers focused on taking Chrysler's standard 6.2-liter V8 and making it reliably handle all of the extra power from the supercharger. "It came down to micron levels of changes in the crank to be able to withstand the pressures of the engine," said Chris Cowland, director of advanced and SRT powertrain, to Automotive News. The changes amounted to switching out about 91 percent of the parts to make the Hellcat, including some quite minuscule alterations. For example, the washer holding the supercharger pulley is embedded with industrial diamonds to keep it from slipping.

Dodge to reveal Hellcat-powered Challenger in Detroit?

Fri, 10 Jan 2014

On top of all the other performance car debuts slated for next week's Detroit Auto Show, we might be able to add one more to the list - the new, supercharged Hellcat V8 from Chrysler. According to new reports, the rumored 640-horsepower mill is likely to cross the Motor City stage in the engine bay of a Dodge Challenger.
As AllPar points out, though, there may be more news than just the fire-breathing engine. While we've seen spy photos of the Hellcat testing under the hood of the current Challenger, there's a very fair chance that it won't arrive until the muscle car is refreshed later this year. The question now is whether that refresh will be shown off alongside the new engine in Detroit, or if it'll be saved, perhaps for the New York Auto Show.
Other details dug up by AllPar include potential transmissions for the supercharged engine - the Mopar-minded site is expecting an eight-speed automatic or a Tremec six-speed manual. Prices, meanwhile, could be in the same elevated range as the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, at $70,000 to $80,000.

Chrysler investing $20M in Toledo plant to support 9-speed auto production

Sun, 28 Apr 2013

In 2011, Chrysler announced a $72-million investment in its Toledo Machining Plant to modernize production of the eight- and nine-speed torque-converters for automatic transmissions made there. That upgrade work won't be finished until Q3 of this year, but Chrysler has already announced a further $19.6-million investment to increase production capacity for the nine-speeders.
The extra units will be necessary because the nine-speed transmission they'll be mated to is going into three popular models: it will debut on the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, then go into the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Dart. The company predicted that this year alone it would sell 200,000 units equipped with the nine-speed tranny, and it is spending some $374 million in addition to the investment in Toledo to upgrade production capacity for it.
The work attached to this new investment won't begin until Q3 of 2014, and it will be finished by the end of that year. There's a press release below with all the details.
