1970 Dodge Coronet Super Bee on 2040-cars

For your consideration is my 1970 Dodge Coronet Super Bee. This car has the High perf 383 (335 HP) and 727 automatic transmission. This car went through a restoration in the early 2000's and has been driven since then so it shows some wear but is generally in great condition; paint is nice. This car is a numbers matching car and was repainted in the original FJ5 Sublime. Original fender tag is in place but there is no broadcast sheet, I think the mice may have got it many many years ago. Decoding goes like this: V6X (Blk super bee stripe), FJ5 (Sublime green), J25(3-speed wipers), J45 (Hood Pins), M21 (Drip rail mldg), N96 (carb fresh air pkg), R11 (radio AM--now a CD player), H2X9 (High black vinyl bench seat), TX9 (Black interior trim), E63 (HP 383 335 horse pwr), D32 (A727 3-speed automatic). Like I said, the numbers on the engine block and transmission match the numbers in the VIN and the car has all correct build codes restored except the radio (CD) and the carb is an Edelbrock (AFB) 750 cfm. I got this car several years ago at the height of Mopar craziness and I suppose that I paid a premium. So, like most things that are fun, I will sell this car for a loss. I prefer numbers matching cars that are not completely messed up and at the time this one was a perfect muscle car/hot rod/cruise night/car show/girl getting set of wheels and I drove it quite a bit. The car runs nice, steers nice and brakes OK. I don't know 100% if the miles are actual but the guy I got if from thought they were and the overall condition of the car would indicate such. Power steering gear is leaking out of the seal; that should be fixed. No rust in this car ever. Anyway, ask questions and I'll do my best to answer. One might consider this a great Father/Son project or cruiser but I think its a little more than that as its a numbers car with little left to do to it unless you want to tackle a frame-off restoration. Toyota, Lexus dominate KBB's Best Resale Value Awards
Tue, 19 Nov 2013Toyota and Lexus stormed the 2014 Kelley Blue Book Best Resale Value Awards, winning a combined 18 categories including best brand and best luxury brand. This marks the third year in a row that both automakers have won the Brand and Luxury Brand resale value awards. In all, Toyota won 11 categories and Lexus won seven.
Honda made a good showing, as well, winning two segments (Accord Plug-In Hybrid and Civic Si) and putting one car on the top-10 Best Resale Value list (CR-V). Chevrolet did even better, winning two segments (with the V6 Camaro and the Corvette) and placing three cars on the top-10-overall list (again, the Camaro and Corvette, plus the Silverado 1500).
The other winners came from Jeep, Dodge, Infiniti, Subaru and Audi. To give you a clearer picture of the Toyota and Lexus domination, their 18 mentions represents more than half of the 34 awards (including the top-10-overall list).
Detroit's new fleet of donated police cars have safety issues [w/video]
Wed, 23 Oct 2013In a show of generosity in mid-August, Detroit's business leaders donated $8 million to the Police Department and Fire Department in order to buy 100 new police vehicles and 23 EMS ambulances. But now officers have discovered - and complained - that the police vehicles have glaring safety issues, Deadline Detroit reports. It is not made clear what models of the fleet vehicles - which include police versions of the Ford Taurus, the Chevrolet Caprice and the Dodge Charger - are affected by the safety issues.
Officers reportedly have complained that the Plexiglass partition separating front-seat officers and back-seat prisoners is easily breached, and that the front passenger seat is installed too close to the dashboard. Prisoners who manage to writhe out of their handcuffs can bend the Plexiglass and reach into the cockpit, and sitting too close to the dashboard can render airbags more dangerous and make officers more vulnerable to injury in a crash.
Mark Diaz, president of the Detroit Police Officers Association, received the complaints and reportedly said the vehicles would get safety updates addressing the issues. But Deadline Detroit reports that it checked some of the offending police cars and, as of the last few days, they hadn't been updated.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recalls nearly 750k vehicles in two campaigns
Thu, 16 Oct 2014Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling a total of 747,817 vehicles in the US in two separate campaigns recently added to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration database.
The first one covers about 434,581 units of the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Challenger, Durango, and Jeep Grand Cherokee from the 2011-2014 model years with electric hydraulic power steering, the 3.6-liter V6 engine and a 160 amp alternator, according to FCA. In the affected vehicles, it's possible for the alternator to fail without warning and possibly cause the car to stall. According to the documentation submitted to NHTSA, the automaker began investigating the problem in August 2014 and has found possible evidence of one crash caused by the failures but no known injuries.
Customers will begin receiving notification about the recall next month, and obviously the repairs will be done at no cost to them.
